Worth revisiting the funding issue regarding this tower. The state government for some inexplicable reason, offered favourable loan arrangements to get this over the line. The project is not yet completed and we are in the midst of a global crisis that will have a lasting impact on international tr...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Can someone with access please post The Advertiser article titled "COVID-19 puts major hotel projects in limbo." Probably won't add much that hasn't already been discussed, but still curious to see what they say  Major hotel developments worth close to $1 billion have been thrown into doubt am...

I really don't like this building (personal opinion) but floplo's picture is a really nice indication of the sort of change you can see from many 'old' views around Adelaide that have changed noticeably in the last 5-10 years. Adelaide is one increasingly dense CBD. I note the building with the oran...

One more very small change to your excellent diagram madelaide - I believe 115KWS is commercial, not residential. As Ho Really said, thanks for all your work on this!

Picture of 62 south Tce - piling has finished and footings are been done in several stages as at 29/2/2020. Please click on picture for bigger. I've lost track of this... What's this to be? From memory (and I think a variation or two has been lodged as it's been so long in gestation, including dele...

Thanks Andy for the magnificent photo update!
Agree. Stunning pics that really contextualise this building and how it will take its (prominent) place in the city once finished.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Having worked in 400KWS back when it was first built, most people found it very workable. The free tram right out front actually made meetings in the 'core' of the CBD easier to get to than it is for a lot of offices located, say, in the Hindmarsh Sq vicinity. I do think there are a number of busine...

This one is already quite prominent in the skyline as you go down KWS on the tram. When it's at full height and finished, it will really visually 'close in' Currie Street up the Light Square section I think.

Glazing looking really good so far! Yep. I know there's been some impatience with this one, but the quality of the glass (so far) and even how nice the detailing looks from the limited amount we can see (wow, it's like the render might actually bear some resemblance to the final product) makes it w...

  Kyren's buildings are all bland but good ole Samaras seems to be the only one with any balls erecting towers. Wait 'til the student accommodation tower is built. It most probably will take the spotlight. As for Realm, that too is nothing special. Simple building with a wavy form thanks ...

I think we need some honesty and realism here. I get the vested interests as per this Advertiser article are out in force but let's get real. Tunnels or flyovers still require land acquisition (entries and exits, ventilation shafts, emergency accesses and for raised roads, supports - see the Superwa...
