Congrats to indaily for doing their best impression of AdelaideNow trying to stir up the crazies. Including a photo of the 1914 (but not heritage listed and unused) bar and calling it 'the site' isn't designed to be provocative at all. Classic, look at us replacing this cute little pub with a monstr...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Access is direct from North Terrace and also direct from the Myer Centre car park. Used to be state govt (and some small fed govt) back in the day, including at one point the Premier's office (in the Olsen era). Following them, Adelaide Uni took over most of the building (with potentially I think s...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Speaking of the Myer Centre clock tower, ever since that building has been built I have wondered what was in that office space that's next to the clock tower and how to access it. Access is direct from North Terrace and also direct from the Myer Centre car park. Used to be state govt (and some smal...

Re: [PRO] 76 South Tce | 12 levels | Mixed Use

Tough call. It looks terrible, but given how narrow it is the concrete walls on east and west are a given. Ultimately I would expect it wouldn't stand out so much but that's likely many, many decades away. Obviously development has to start somewhere but there's already plenty of similar height buil...

[PRO] Re: 134-136 Wright Street | 58m | 16 Levels | Motel

Plans for a 17-storey hotel development in the CBD have been shelved, with the developer looking to offload the site after a series of delays. The Hotel on Wright Street project, near the north-eastern corner of Whitmore Square, secured planning approval in 2020, and was to include a $10.9m tower w...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Broadly speaking in most cases it looks like some decent improvements. The extra off-ramps after Gallipoli Underpass should relief some pressure there traffic wise and also build in some redundancy in case of accidents or blockages of any sort. Also makes sense given the future plans for more access...

Finally got to post about this, after a very challenging 5-year journey! Screenshot 2022-10-06 103149.jpg Thanks for all your info and corrections over those 5-years. I just looked back through the first few pages on this development and you took some pretty heavy blows from cynical and/or disbelie...

[CAN] Re: 207 Pulteney Street | 180m | 55 Levels | Mixed Use

I don't mind it, the 'cut outs' are pretty different from 'standard Adelaide tower' in a good way, it sets the baseline for the inevitable new talls which due to airport heights will need to be in the same vicinity and it clearly defines where the 'real city' starts as you come in from the east. It ...

The posts on the planning website clearly written by one person, not sure if they had different accounts but the style of writing, exact same opening comment and use of '??' kind of gives it away. Also the idea that a 180m is 'twice' as tall as anything else... LOL. Real AdelaideNow level of comment...
