[PRO] Re: Grange-Holbrooks-East Ave Dog Leg
Thanks for that. From my quick look at the fly over, I only really noticed the buildings on the immediate corner next to the gym. I will have to take some photos soon when passing through.

The house next to the gym has been vacant for at least a year following a fire. Other than that and the shop on the corner next to it, what else is going to be demolished?

At least the heritage shop is being kept. I was worried when the site was put up for sale.

The utility building is bigger than the passenger shelter
Seriously though, that shelter should have been at least double that length

I have read conflicting information on this one. Are they keeping the facade of the current building or not?

Would look great with a large tree in that large glassed area... oh wait. Those sections with wavy glass roofs are giving me Chadstone vibes

Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe dsriggs is referring to the federation cottage on the corner. Its a single level home with quite a sizable yard. The last time I saw it in person it had extensive fire damage to its rear roof. Hopefully it can be restored and still used as a home.

Out of all the buildings in that area, the Intercontinental is the only building in my opinion that has aged the best. If its re-clad or repainted, it will only age quicker and require more maintenance. A good clean is all it needs but I do fear with its upcoming refurbishment that it will be turned...

You watch, it will be some shade of grey for sure. I also noticed Adelaide Metro has also fallen victim to the Monument Grey trend with the repainting of a few stations including Woodlands. Personally, I think its hideous and any other actual colour would be an improvement over a shade of grey.

I'm surprised it hasn't been redeveloped already especially around the time that Wave went up next door. Wonder if it has anything to do with its former use being a service station. Maybe the storage tanks are still under there and the land would need a far bit of remediation.

I really don't understand Adelaide's obsession with building tiny platform shelters that don't even offer any protection or even look good. So many of these useless shelters across the Adelaide Metro network.

I used to work not far from this site ten years ago. It was sad to see it sitting empty then and still is. I really don't understand why heritage buildings and other properties are allowed to be bulldozed when sites like this sit vacant for decades on end especially in a capital city. Does this stuf...

In the above series of photos, are the footings in the top left of the area from the old 1950's wing of the RAH or are they newly constructed?
