Even the airport is routinely 5 degrees cooler than Kent Town in the afternoon due to the sea breeze. Failing that, your local is cool and dim during the day is most likely not going to be short of icy cold Pale Ale :) http://www.carspin.net/forums/Smileys/carspin/party.gif The best time to consume...

Re: #Official Mining Thread

Mindarie, which is in the Murray Mallee a little north-east of Karoonda, is already producing Zircon and shipping it by rail to Adelaide about once a fortnight. Production is expected to increase to 3 trains per fortnight. I worked on the construction and commissioning crew, pre Christmas, good to ...

Re: Adelaide's Air Quality

The smog certainly seems to be worse than it was back around 2000. Back then you used to be able to see a filthy layer of smog over the north-western area around the port and that when coming down the Southern Expressway or Tapleys Hill on a warm day. On Friday the 4th I was out fishing in a boat a...

Re: Melbourne risks becoming 'a backwater like Adelaide': Brumby

I'm not surprised that Americans don't quite know where Melbourne is. In fact they don't even know where most major European countries and cities are located. When I was last time in the US (about 5 years ago) a lot of them were convinced Australia was one of the states in their country. Austria ht...

At the moment I'm reading a Peter Temple Omnibus...The Broken Shore...In The Evil Day...An Iron Rose The Broken Shore Before Rai Sarris, Cashin was different. He moved more quickly then, he was less thoughtful, less easily spooked. But there are consequences when you've come that close to dying. For...
