The crane base is now installed.

There has also been a mobile crane onsite installing tilt panels along the rear boundary so the building is starting to take shape.

It seems as well as selling this site the council is also selling the old bus depot. (reported in todays paper) Hopefully these locations are purchased by someone with some new ideas and designs that actually get off the ground. Piling has now finished and they are starting foundations this week.

The rest of the crane for the Mellor Street site is going up today.

While there has been a temporary crane at the Mellor Street development for the past week, a crane base is now being offloaded today from a truck.

There was a crane putting up what appeared to be a large banner yesterday afternoon. It has gone now.

BTW does anyone know when the public will be able to access the site? It was officially opened a couple of weeks ago, and the Tour infrastructure's been removed, and it's still fenced off.
