Re: More Development for Mt Barker

That vacant block is an eyesore alright! I've given up trying to think what and when will come to Mt Barker. More and more houses keep coming up, but it's not inline with the facilities of the town. I was told over a year ago that the vacant area that was where Adelaide hills Toyota kept their used ...

Re: More Development for Mt Barker

Damnit! I was going benefit massively from the Bald Hills rd offramp considering the estate I live in. Adelaide rd just sucks most of the time!

Re: #APP: $100m Retail Precinct | Mt Gambier

I've seen similar effects in Geelong with the new Westfield Bay City having just been built. Granted, Geelong is a City of almost 200,000 people, so it can't even be compared to Mount Gambier, but the results were still the same as the concerns that people have over this project. The main drag now b...

Re: #Proposed : $25m Motorsport Complex (Garden Island)

Yeah it was a good turn out. Masonic Hall was full and the crowd spilled past the the bunting and right onto the street. It was very informative, just a shame there's no actual date set for the rally.

Re: #Official Mining Thread

I think royalties should be at _least_ 10%. Why we have such an absurdly low rate, is beyond me. Lifting these royalties would enable us to gather a much more significant stream of income, and be able to reduce things like Payroll Tax, and whatnot. I agree, 3.5% is a joke really, this explains why ...

Re: Turn off car engine when idling more than 10 secs

I don't really understand the skepticism to this...I've been doing this for years.. I drive a '96 Honda Civic, no "stop-start" technology, nothing wrong with my starter motor.. yes, the 10 seconds is probably not applicable to each car, i'm not saying do it *every* time you stop only when...

Re: Turn off car engine when idling more than 10 secs

Yes it is a myth.. it does not take more energy to start the car than to leave it running - provided it is more than ten seconds. It's not a flat figure of ten seconds, it depends on the car, the temperature of the engine, the atmospheric conditions etc. And it's not just the energy it takes that's...

Re: Adelaide Motor Show cancelled until next year

I run the same injectors in my car, good thing about the FG's are they share the same injectors as LS1/LS2/34 GTT. I found some bosch ones 600cc with the nice spray pattern for around $490 which I reckon are an absolute bargain. Could imagine with a high flow that thing would be quite the beast. I'...

Re: Adelaide Motor Show cancelled until next year

Mate 3 grand on a new FG Falcon will see it push 320rwkw or the limits of the Turbo. Is that the cobra stage 2 kit? That's like 4k if you do it yourself isn't it? Very nice kit indeed... big fan of the turbo falcons, and not much outlay to get them to decent power. Might be able to keep up with som...

Re: Adelaide's worst suburb - Davoren Park

We all know that apart from a handful of suburbs down south, most of Adelaide's worst suburbs are located North. We also know that apart from a handful of Western Suburbs (by west I mean beach), most of Adelaide's best suburbs are located East. Well, after I say what I'm about to say, the secret is ...

Re: Adelaide Motor Show cancelled until next year

That's alright, if they're not interested in selling cars in Adelaide then we'll just import them... i'm sure all these awesomely priced imports will give the local manufacturers a run for their money. I could go out and spend 30k on a new commodore, or spend 30k on a import EVO VIII... tell you wh...
