Re: News & Developments: Prospect
Yeah that site has some putrid smells coming from it.
If there is a southerly, you can smell it as far away as Hawker Street.
I would hate to be living near that site at the moment

Re: News & Discussion: Population Growth
This is just unsustainable growth.
If the population growth doesn't slow down, this country will not be considered the 'lucky country' for long

Can't remember seeing a tender whereby ASC and BAE won.
Was this a 'Captain's Call'?
I know for a sole source, there needs to be an extremely good justification...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Vietjet flights were launched as return (via Perth) flights on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Looking a few months into the future they are now bookable only on Saturday and Tuesday out of Adelaide, although the 5x a week flights from Perth remain. I flew Vietjet in January and it...

Re: #Official Defence Thread
Rumor mill is working overdrive that the SFR will identify extra Hunter frigates be built. I have heard 16! half in standard ASW fit and half in the up-gunned variant. With a two year build, that would mean that Hunter would be coming out of service when the last frigate is being built. That would b...

Re: Adelaide Airport $1B Expansion (2028)
How far into the future are these images?
I love:
1. the design of the trucks they use (the future is now!) and
2. the projected Adelaide skyline.
I am assuming the image of the terminal is the completed expansion which, from memory, was going to undergo a staged expansion(?)

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Isn't switching to a 777 a bit of a step backwards?
From a passenger comfort perspective, yes. I guess from number of seats, no.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Via Perth is pretty horrid.
However, fingers crossed that it is well patronised and Vietjet starts direct HCMC-Adelaide flights soon.

[PRO] Re: New Adelaide Aquatic Centre | $135M
There's been a pair of Liberal party hacks parked at the entrance of the centre on weekend mornings for the past month pretending to be grassroots petitioners to "save our kids' swimming lessons" (none of their signs mention the party they're from, the only give away is the legally requir...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide
Was talking to the guys in the fodder shop and they said they were told to pack their bags… A bit sad really There's a fodder shop in Port Adelaide? Is it's customer base truckloads of live export cattle and sheep? Or are there herds of livestock I'm unaware of on the flats around Barker Inlet? A v...
