Re: The SA Politics Thread

I'm very surprised too, given how tight the race is between the three parties. You'd think they'd be throwing absolutely everything they can out there to swing votes in their respective favours. I cannot believe that the Liberals are once again playing the small target strategy! Have they not learn...

Re: Riverside Precinct

I hope there's a bit of financial support behind the stuff opening around the convention centre as it seems it could take some time for the zone to become popular. I've been riding past daily and the area still feels like the sleepy park it always has been... probably not aided by the amount of civ...

If a bikeway off the road means less lycra idiots on the roads, where can I make a donation?

https://i.imgur.com/WdCx2X3.png Yeah, I like my maps   I can still see that going ahead No reason why it shouldn't. Short sighted decisions by councils, because there wasn't an overall state or metro-wide planning authority or plan aside, that screw up there can be corrected with minimal ...

Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Just on cycling on the PREXY. It was a major mistake not to build a separated cycling path from Mawson lakes to Port Adelaide parallel with the PREXY. All it has done is force cyclists to ride on the shoulder of a 90km/hr road only metres away from big trucks which is far from smart or ideal for al...

Re: U/C: Armada Arndale Redevelopment | $200m

But everyone is looking at this from an Adelaide point of view of low density. Is there any reason Arndale can't be connected to the OH line by light rail (if it ever got off the ground) and some serious high density housing be constructed in conjunction with re developement of the entire centre? I...

[U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Forget housing, that should be turned into a new industrial area, with the aim of centralizing the majority of industrial sites scattered across the west/north westand turning those areas into housing. Areas such as Underdale around the river, beverly, thebarton, mile end south, royal park and even ...

Ok that second image does appear to be of the prexy/superway interchange..the first image obviously doesn't show any indication of that.

Re: U/C: Armada Arndale Redevelopment | $200m

I just checked on google maps and it says 14 minutes. Bottom line is this. Both centers are owned by two different companies. Why the fuck would one not renovate and expand their center to compete? This whole fallacy of west lakes being "10 minutes up the road" therefore Arndale being irrelevant is ...

Looks way taller than 140m.

Why go to this much effort of designing a building, complete with floor plans and cross sections and whatnot if its not a serious proposal?
hahaha really? :hilarious:

Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I've juxtaposed the map of the Southern Interchange from the NC PDF file onto the latest Google Earth imagery for the site. Some things line up, but there are evidently smaller modifications to the final product (and hopefully not massive errors instead!). Old design. Current works match better to ...

Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Regency over South still seems better to me. 6 lane freeway bridge for North-south motorway vs 4 lane arterial bridge for Regency. Less interference of South Rd traffic etc. That's not logical though. South Road/Cross Road overpass. There's traffic lights below. South Road continues over it all. Ap...
