Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I think high-quality townhouses along the waterfront, interspersed or above restaurants and cafes, looks much nicer than Gold Coast-style highrise right up to the edge. Repurpose the large woolstores and bond stores, and build the highrises in the next tier back from those. Glenelg has achieved a r...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Ok for the sake of the discussion can you give me an example of one (or a few) development/s that you compare as your vision/ambition here? It’s admirable to want iconic, a higher standard etc but to me its Port Adelaide it’s not the Rocks Sydney... and what you want/may expect translates to a much...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

Our input isn't going to stop them from creating another generic suburb with cut and paste townhouses. Port Adelaide needs high rise. It needs hotels, it needs apartments. It needs bars, restaurants, cafes etc along the water front. If they could, they should open up the lake around Delfin Island/We...

It's a better architectural result than the Parkroyal at Tullamarine in Melbourne.

Image
The Park Royal at Tulla was built two decades ago. And it actually is built on top of a car park.

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

What an absolute let down. I think I said it when it was proposed first. It's basically turning the Port into another average suburb. Take a look at the Port River, compare it to the River Torrens. All the attention an insignificant "lake" like the Torrens is getting in the CBD(and being botched as ...

It will be Student Accom. Is that speculation or fact? Speculation based on the business lingo they use. The phrase " a change in those being appealed to (future clientele)" never means 'we are going up-market'. It means 'we aren't making sales, we need to widen our reach and make it cheaper". The ...

[U/C] Re: 27-31 Angas Street | 103m | 30 Levels | Kodo Apartments

I don't know how but this building makes the eastern CBD highrises around Pulteney, Pirie and Flinders feel significantly taller. Perception. Fill the CBD up with buildings between Westpac and Telstra & Grenfell Center, and suddenly the CBD will look like a high rise paradise. Until a much taller b...

Correct, unfortunately - nothing will be happening in 2020 as it stands. No announcement years in advance does not mean nothing will be happening. There isn't even a proposal yet for what should be done for the remainder of the corridor. Have they even finished their "studies"? What exactly do you ...

so when t2t and Darlington are finished other than the northern connector which is basically being built on vacant land with no built up area the project essentially grinds to a halt?? So in your fantasy world, which presumably you share with Westside, all cyclists, lycra or no lycra, do this do they? I have never seen a single lycra cyclist do this. I don't wear lycra. And yes, I often see cyclists doing this, i.e waiting for vehicles in the bike lane to leave. Some cyclists doi...

You're not defending anything besides your own militant narrow minded opinion. You got caught out making up lies about what I said, now you feel like you have to get one back against me. You make me laugh mate. You've called me a liar over 4 times now and each time I have asked you to qualify...

Well the new government has upheld one election promise, they've cut the cost of the Emergency Services Levy.
They say they're going to increase emergency services funding too at the same time.
