[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
In the pdf it states upgrades to Marion and Sturt road intersection and Daws and South road intersection as well as localised improvements along south road through to edwardstown. Interesting.

Perfect location for reasoably priced apartments. Topham mall needs a refresh even if only part of the mall is being redone. I work alongside topham, so welcome any upgrade and more options at lunch! It's good to see more private investment moving forwards.

[COM] Re: #U/C: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m
I'm no expert on how much these things cost but traveling past the site day in day out on a bus and watching the changes I don't think 24 mill is too much. There appears to be significant works going on underground and it seems to being built with longevity in mind.

Good article breaking down the significant works being done under the surface of the new pavers including photos:

From what I have seen from the bus they are using the same approach to laying the pavers in Victoria square.

[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)
I'm clinging to the possibility that the renders shown in the advertiser article were chosen to deliberately make them look awful. I mean, surely the panel selecting the finalists couldn't have stuffed it up that bad?!?! I couldnt access the odasa site from my phone there surely has to be more rende...

All of these photos have been taken from the South Road side of the redevelopment, looking West. Re: New Retail in the CBD
There is some good food in that little corner of town. Since coming back to Adelaide the food court at the Southern Cross Arcade has become a frequent lunch stop for me - especially the noodle soups from the Happy Dragon. I'm prepared to forgive places being a bit rough looking if the food's good, ...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment
The reason riverbank/waterfront developments work is because of 'aspect'. What brings people to these locations isn't just about foot traffic and casinos but also, and just as importantly, it is the view. Who is going to sit in a cafe/restaurant overlooking torrens lake with pretty much dark parkla...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment
Why anyone would take an interstate train in this day and age of dirt-cheap airline travel is beyond me. $90 on the Overland from Adelaide to Melbourne, and ten hours of travel, for goodness sake! I'm not convinced by any significant outlays of cash accommodating interstate passenger trains at Adel...

I must admit I was looking forward to more construction on Hindmarsh Square, but if this secures HS (maybe adds a couple of floors...!?!?) then it will definately be worthwhile. I just wish that HS could top the Westpac building for a new tallest, that would be absolutely amazing (I know I'm dreamin...

...The suggestion for a new casino in the old RAH site was complete rubbish, a redeveloped river front precinct is exactly where it needs to be... Okay, this might very well be true. But you can't just say so without some kind of supporting argument. If you can then your kitchen is equally suited. ...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment - General Discussion Thread
Funny about old people being tougher than us soft younger generations. Last time I was at Alberton it was cold, windy and p*ssing down but there they were, plenty of senior citizens out in the open with only plastic raincoats and umbrellas at most for protection. From what I gather, the eldery popu...
