[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)

The massive redevelopment of Event Cinemas is now underway. Vmax cinemas currently being refitted along with a few others with the rest to follow. Gold Class and Candy Bar areas will also be completely gutted and rebuilt in the next year or two. Hopefully we'll get a 4DX cinema as part of the refur...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Looks like we're getting the final glimpse of the once wonderful Myer Centre, sadly.

Just a couple of pics showing the latest "progress" on the "enhancement" to the Myer Centre facade.

I'm assuming TK Maxx will be taking some of the space that was formerly the 2nd level of David Jones. Can't see it fitting anywhere else on that level.
That's right.

The rest of the old DJs / Johnnies space is already taken by Goodlife Gym and the childcare centre.

Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail

THough not as close as West lakes, that is still quite close. I don't think it's far enough for Adelaide. A TK MAX super store would do so well here. Or another big US/Euro retailer like a Cost Co,etc. Bring in something new that will give people reason to jump into their metal boxes and drive down...

Re: News & Developments: Other Suburban Retail

There are already 2 supermarkets in Port Adelaide Plaza.

I think Big W would be a much better fit. The nearest being Armdale.

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)

They're just continuing the flooring in the food court so that it goes all through to Woolworths. When completed both levels will have that flooring (much higher quality than what was there before) between Myer / where Myer was on the ground floor, and Woolworths / Big W. I doubt they'll continue wi...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Cotton On has closed their shopfront until September, presumably for renovations. IThe front is weirdly designed - there are a few places where you could grab clothes and walk off with no chance of staff seeing you... Well, that's unusual! Stand by for the announcement they're shutting down (due to...

[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m

I can remember the first time I ever visited I spent a while driving around looking for the right place to park because I presumed that every parking area I drove through was at the back of the centre. It was only after I'd completed a full lap I realised there wasn't actually a front so to speak. ...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)

Your research is very thorough! I have strong connections to several. I have recently lived in Queensland, close to the centre which is still named Arndale. I have worked in both the Kilkeny Arndale centre, and the Manchester Arndale Centre. I have also visited the Stretford Arndale numerous times a...

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)

Level 1 currently closed off, no escalators down to level 1 from level 2. Sign outside Myer level 1 entrance by the food court which says “Customers Your new Myer Tea Tree Plaza is now open. Please visit us via our level 2 entrances.” I suppose in such circumstances it's to be expected that they'd ...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)

I have no idea about the origin of Arndale. But perhaps it could be renamed Westfield Croydon to match up with the inaccuracy further south. The J8 service is the only connection to the Arndale precinct. It's actually got a vaguely interesting history - being the first covered shopping centre in Au...

Looks good but I don't understand how anyone can think it's looking tired already when it's been massively upgraded so recently.
So recently? The completion of the last major upgrade was 16-years-ago...
I've been in a time-warp (in Queensland), although only since 2015!
