[VIS] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

I think the Memorial Drive site could be used to build a new 25000-30000 seat rectangular stadium to maximise use and legacy of the Riverbank precinct, bringing higher capacity crowds closer to the city centre. To allow for more space and vibrancy, parts of Montefiore Rd and maybe War Memorial Driv...

Screen shot from a live Xmas Pageant video on Facebook Looks to be a paint job E361C0F0-4F60-43A8-AC03-1168520FEC7A.jpeg I have always hated the colour of this building. Looks like a giant stain running down the building. As long as the white paint is of good quality, I think it will refresh the bu...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

I’m back working in the CBD after 5.5 years in the burbs and I’m quite impressed with the laneway/streetscape changes. Market to Riverbank link is looking (and feeling) great, plus there are improvements in other streets and laneways. I also like the look (and usefulness) of the digital bus stops al...

Re: New Adelaide public transport hub

You can always submit your ideas to Infrastructure SA… Bear in mind some of the basic parameters I think you will find they are looking at, and unlikely to change in their planning, include: The proposed CBD underground rail loop that allows through running with the three proposed stations – Adelai...

Surely that’s the biggest hole ever dug in the Adelaide CBD?

The only other one I think which would come close was the Myer Centre.

Didn’t know where to put this, so thought this topic was the closest fit. The new ad for Mitsubishi ASX was filmed in Adelaide. How many Adelaide locations can you spot? https://www.news.com.au/ (if viewing today) https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/vehicles/asx?cid=Launch_ASX_News%20Corp%20Austral...

Inspired by Stryker, I went for a good look during my lunch break: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191017/e1944341c1a5c86071f6e2bd1516ed41.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191017/1ce4332b1bfa606bc867bcdf161d6b9e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191017/865f14c0195eddc3462054c3cbc289b6...

Both options are vastly inferior to google maps. Google By GPS I did mean Google Maps or if you must, TomTom based services like Apple Maps. If you use anything other than Google Maps you have junk traffic data ;) So Google Maps real-time traffic data is better than Apple Maps? Just asking, I find ...

A moody one. I was running out of light, but managed to capture this against the dusty early evening sky.

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide

If it’s not feasible in 2026, I can’t possibly see how it might be feasible in 2030 or 2034. The same infrastructure will still have to be built!! And I can’t see the private sector paying for it.

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide

There’s an article on AdelaideNow that the Commonwealth Games bid is on the brink of collapse because the $3.5 billion cost is too high. How could it cost that much? I though we were trumpeting that we could host it quite inexpensively because most of the sporting infrastructure already exists? The ...

Signage. https://i.imgur.com/B5v4qBq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mMXO1Kf.jpg The glazing is very good, which has saved this building from being a bland shocker. But I’m still of the opinion that the square window proportions are wrong. Either horizontally or vertically proportioned windows would have b...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

To me, the only places suitable in the city for high-end luxury is North Tce between KWS and Charles St, or the GPO building — the latter ideally combined with both the Victoria Square and Market Arcade developments fully completed. I’d have thought refurbing the old Gallerie on Gawler Place betwee...
