[COM] Re: U/C: SAHMRI | $200m
Is there any future pedestrian link (above the rail tracks) planned between SAHMRI/new RAH and the Torrens or will it be necessary to walk across the Morphett St Bridge or via Bonython Park to get there? I feel that the area around the weir could become a fantastic spot (especially at night) if it w...

If anyone lives in West Torrens, and doesn't want this debate to be hijacked by NIMBYs, please have your say via the following website: http://www.westtorrens.sa.gov.au/Council/News_events/Council_news/Council_news_listing/Housing_Diversity_DPA Good initiative Will; because NIMBYS usually are bette...

AFAIK, The plan of joining to the Northern Connector is still active, but the earliest the NC would commence construction (assuming federal funding approved) would be 2016/7. So unless this new northern end has changed other plans, the interchange should be relatively easy (in terms of destroying c...

I really hope this project will go ahead. It would put some life into a now very quiet area and also become a link between KWS and the emerging NW corner of the city. If the pricing is attractive I'm sure people will see what a great location this is despite its somewhat dilapidated appearance at th...

Yeah, and the Eiffel Tower is soooo 1890's (or whatever), the Empire State Bldg so 1930's....... Yes they are, and that's why I wouldn't suggest that we build an Eiffel Tower or an Empire State Building in Adelaide. What was your point? ;) As stated above, a restaurant with a view, or similar in an...

I find these targets a tad meaningless - there have been so many of them and usually they get nowhere close to the actual outcome. That's understandable; you can only project what's happened in the past and make more or less educated guesses about what'll happen after that. To juggle around a lot of...

Nice pic but I think they got the wrong one again; this looks like taken from the UniSA site to me.

Anybody know what's happening here? Fenced off, lots of shipping containers and the (few) people there say it's a construction site but not much more. Some kind of temporary storage area for upcoming events?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
This is actually not a bad idea. Bikes and cars don't go well together (and not peds either for that matter). Bikers only need one safe north-south and one east-west CBD thru route. Leave the rest of the inner city for others. Most painted bike lanes are not much use anyway - they only take up space...

OK, move the balls, fountain, pigs whatever but why cut down the trees? I'm sure the other stuff will be moved again in a couple of years but it'll be at least 15 years until we can get some useful shade again (I've never understood the argument that we have to cut down healthy trees to replant them...

OK, let's just sit back and feel good about how great everything is here. We don't need to change anything because somebody from far away told us they liked it here. So let's all go back to sleep again.

Brisbanes Mall has a really nice outdoor bar, with tables spilling onto the mall, a real open feel not all closed off behind plastic walls like our current cafe, great place for a beer and to take in the passing sights. Brisbane's Mall has bars and cafe's down the middle - that's what the ...
