I'm sorry, but how on earth did the MCG make it to the top of that list? The venue is awful, both in terms of facilities and atmosphere. And not to mention the pitch is terrible. What moron at Foxtel came up with that?
And Eden Gardens at number 2.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

From Cr Simms Facebook page: CITY COUNCIL UPDATE 😱 Last night at City Council, the Team Adelaide faction: - opposed Anne Moran’s motion to stop the Crows’ unsolicited bid for the Parklands - dumped Clr Moran from the Council Assessment Panel (after 25 years) and Clr Phil Martin from audit committee...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

The train also has no USB ports, and minimal powerpoints at the end of each carriage by the doors (lucky I stocked up on powerbanks). The train is also painfully slow (especially the Ararat-North Shore leg), with an average speed of just 85km/h. Tuesday I had to take a couple of V/Line V'Locities, ...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

I took the Overland to Melbourne last Friday. This was the first trip by rail (long distance) i has done in and out of Keswick for years. To say the station is under used is being nice. The line within the station are shocking and need to be re-done, (if you head down there when a train is in, you’...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Drove southbound from Waterloo Corner Rd this afternoon, then northbound to Bolivar Rd tonight.

Great surface to drive on, and a very smooth ride. Will be even better once the speed limit is at their normal speed.

There was a cop enforcing the lower speed limit tonight, which was good to see.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Just a heads up... Low-cost Filipino carrier Cebu Pacific is exploring expanding routes to Australia over the next few years. They are considering the possibility of adding Adelaide, Perth and the Gold Coast to Sydney and Melbourne where they already fly five and three times a week. They want to bo...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Salisbury Highway off ramp from the Superway now has both lanes open (merges to 1 just before it joins Salisbury Highway).

Also note that the on ramp from the Port River Expressway has 'Start Freeway' instead of 'Start Motorway'.

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

hello march!! we must be close to an opening surely? NEXY is closed tomorrow to resurface the southbound lanes onto the NC. This must be the last step surely? Opens this Saturday. Initial speed limit will be 80 (and 60 through the southern interchange), but as per the Superway/T2T after a few weeks...

McIntyre Road has always had significant problems. It gets cut back and new bitumen every few years to relevel it. The same work will likely be due again by 2023. Clearly the road has structural problems but no one has done better than continued patch work to relevel. The soil around that area is n...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

It looks like it's part of a broader plan to ultimately ditch Tiger, and possibly revert Virgin back to a LCC. Do you have a source for this or just your personal opinion? I know this is the wet dream of certain VirginBlue fanboys on other aviation forums, but the current management of VA have made...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Virgin CEO has today announced that it is cutting 5 routes from April. One of those is the Adelaide to Sydney route. As well they are selling of their 7 Airbus A321 planes and will use only 737 aircraft. That would be A320's - Tiger don't have A321's, and they've been slowly doing this for years. I...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Evening all, Adelaide been hit with lots of flight reductions due to the Corona Virus... Cathay Pacific have cancelled all flights to Adelaide from March 8th- 28th. This may continue into beyond the 28th. China Southern have suspended Adelaide until further notice. I will be surprised if they re-st...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Saw some poor woman waiting on the outbound platform at Salisbury just now. Luckily we eventually convinced her that it doesn’t get used outside of peak times and to come over to Platform 2. Which begs the question, why is Salisbury the only oddity on the whole network? None of the other interchang...
