[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)
Yes I think the mountain one is the best of the choices....like you can still take an elevator to get up/down from the top to the bar/observation deck from there....but probably should be a higher and wider mountain. Just a [serious] thought.... could a gondola/cable-car work from here [to go over t...

Sorry to break it to you but all of Australia's airports are privatised and with the UK are the only two places/govts in the world that have done this.

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m
Not that it's a big deal but the adelaide airport development was paid for by the company that owns the airport and makes a profit from it while Adelaide Oval is being funded by us as taxpayers...I read somewhere about AO they expect a $110m economic return per year to the state so that theoreticall...

I can't believe that the main point of the objector is that taller buildings may block the view of the Adelaide Hills from the city...and the view may be considered to be heritage listed under Federal law!!

Many people haven't got any near access to a tram line as they do to a train line in Adelaide...
I am interested to hear if anyone knows more about this underground train loop or whatever.
Even if its a pipe dream in another 10 -20 years are there even any plans/proposals [ie where stops may be].

Re: PRO: 30-year Transport Plan PRO | $36b
To messiah I don't think these roads are wide at all especially If you were to loose 2 lanes for trams...i think you would be probably forced to share the roads with cars with tram ...You would also need to get rid of all off street parking to just have a single car lane in many of these roads...and...

Re: PRO: 30-year Transport Plan PRO | $36b
These points I want explained in the 30 year transport plan... With the Torrens to Torrens, why couldn't they have just gone overhead as they have done with the next section (NExy) and saved hundreds of millions in all the property purchases and also why not go over (or even under) bloody Torrens Rd...

Re: PRO: 30-year Transport Plan PRO | $36b
I think a tram network [using up at least 2 lanes] down Unley Rd, Henley Beach Rd, The Parade , Prospect Rd etc would work a lot better if cars can share the same road as the trams [like Jetty Rd Glenelg] yet in Adelaide they seem now to be built with there own exclusive lanes...any reason why?

Re: PRO: 30-year Transport Plan PRO | $36b
Ok the really big question.... Why isn't there a monorail in all this? Lol Seriously I think a bigger tram network is a good idea however to turn all these main roads like Henley Beach Rd, Prospect Rd, The Parade, Unley Rd etc effectively to only one lane would have dire consequences...unless these ...

Thanks James for the pics...can I ask if the no balconies design was a directive of the hotel chain? Also to clean all the windows do you need abseiling window cleaners (and how often)? Is there any intention to sell off rooms/apartments? Is there any pool or gym facilities also?
