Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

One road is in Adelaide and one road is in Sydney both of them are roughly the same width. Looking at the Sydney example they have managed to fit a bus lane (meaning that buses are not in a traffic jam). If we followed this example on many of Adelaide's main roads as possible that will surely get t...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Love the paintwork on the buildings, but the landscaping looks so cold and soulless... Compared to the other end of North Terrace where there are elements of timber, stone, varying colour, lots of planting. This however reminds me a lot of Rundle Mall, and not in a good way.

[U/C] Re: Flinders Rail Link

Anyone advocating replacing rail.. light or heavy with Obahn style buses, I would strongly recommend you stand near the Obahn track in the linear park near StPeters. 1. The noise of a high revving diesel bus trying to maintain 80kph is very unpleasant. 2. Add to that the "roar" of rubber on concret...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

Although I’m surprised there aren’t more student accommodation buildings proposed for the west. Mate, have you ever heard of : 1) Unilodge city gardens 2) atira waymouth 3) 124 Waymouth st I realise this. Did you read where I said more student accommodation buildings PROPOSED for the west. There is...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

What happened to the further expansion/developments that UniSA had planned between their Jeffrey Smart building/Pridham Hall and Currie Street (currently the bus stopover point)? Regardless, glad to see this happening, there’s a lot of development potential around the West of the city, and in some c...

[ONH] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

I’ve heard Zara are having a closing down sale. Does anyone know if this is true? Haven't heard anything but this doesn't surprise me, Zara are closing a lot of their smaller, subsidiary brand stores across Europe and they've been touting a jump from Burnside for ages (ever since they relocated the...

Re: Whyalla | Developments & News

That's really cool. Imagine something like that at Glenelg, with the inside of the circle a space that has slides and other water amusements. Begs the question why the Holfast Bay council haven't decided on something like this. I know the state government have been touting a massive overhaul of the...

[APP] Re: 73-85 Pirie Street | 89m | 22 Levels | Office

Makes you wonder why taller buildings can get up in strange pockets of the city (like CBD east) meanwhile there seems to be this stunted growth with those buildings along Waymouth/Pirie and Currie/Grenfell. This building looks great but would have looked better with a podium spanning the whole site ...

Re: Port Road West Lakes Boulevard Intersection

One of the worst intersections. Port Road should narrow as it gets closer to the intersection. That way they can remove that silly middle section and set of lights, and traffic can flow through there quicker. All of those silly intersections on port road should be fixed. I don't understand why ther...

[PRO] Re: 51 Pirie Street | ~86m | 21 Levels | Hyatt

Just a gentle reminder that the 1927 building is mostly all gone already — all that remains is the facade. The 80s brutalist addition on the corner has more remaining heritage value. In most cases, preserving a building is not about the interior preservation but the external. Her Majesty's Theatre ...
