Starting to gain some prominence from the north. I wish those power lines weren't there, they obscure a pretty good, otherwise unobscured angle of this building.

[COM] Re: Adelaidean | 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use | New tallest
So once both are comleted: Which will be tallest (above ground level)? Which will be highest (above AHD/sea level)? It seems like there is an incentive, for however little time, for the one that is not the final answer to those questions to hold the title, even if only for a week. Above ground leve...

Is there a page somewhere explaining the different types of cranes and the benefits and drawbacks of each type? This one is a hammerhead. You use it where there's a lot of airspace and it gives a good reach. The other type, found at Gray Street or Dwell for example, is an electric luffing jib. It c...

Noooooooo...... They can't kill my Planet memories.... 😭😭. Loved that place back in the day. A planet killer, eh? Then it's obvious this one should be nicknamed the Death Star. I don't adore this one. Reminds me of the GPO development but with glass walls. But the location isn't as prime so it's no...

Just wondering whether anyone actually knows if this building will be technically taller than Westpac House? Both are listed at 132 metres... This one is taller by 10cm. It will be 131.7m, while Westpac is 131.6m. There's some DAC documentation out there that reveals this, but I can't be bothered l...

Re: Interactive Map of Adelaide CBD Development
I suppose it's a good time for an update. With piling commencing on the Adelaidean and a crane base at Realm, I'm suitably convinced that they're both going to go ahead, so I've turned them both slate grey. Gray Street and the East Terrace apartments have also joined team grey. Bohem, 228 North Terr...

Bit of a thread bump, I know but there was some sort of site works going on today. Fencing is up, a concrete slab poured in and a small bulldozer or digger looking thing. Not sure what exactly is going on. You sure you've got the right site? I went past today and it still looked very much like an o...

Let's see what happens. I find it confusing that this one was originally Sky Adelaide/Sky Apartments, then became Solea and is now apparently Sky again. Also from last week. They've removed the old white tiled roofing of the house and replaced it with steel sheeting.
The tower proper seems to be taking its time. Most of the fencing around the bottom has been removed but it doesn't quite look done at the top.

Here's the cleared site facing north. By the navigation thread, I wouldn't call this SWP. Fairly sure there wasn't any excavating/compacting/levelling equipment or plant on site, so I'm not sure they're ready to start proper construction yet.

Well damn, that part of the city could conceivably become the most dense (and tall) part of the city. I would be very annoyed as an Adelaidean big wig/purchaser if my development next door lost about 80 to 85 percent of its northern views. I'm not really confident that we'll see a masterpiece, since...
