[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels
Looks like new fill has been brought in around the boundary to help create a level surface for the piling rigs. Hopefully not too much longer until we see Multiplex take over the site completely.

[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels
There's a pretty good chance yesterday was a monthly RDO - pretty common in the industry. Plus it could be civil contractors doing the soil remediation prior to handing the site over in full to BM. I appreciate the enthusiasm and monitoring but there will be days of little action, it doesn't spell d...

Good to see a climbing collar added to the crane too. I'd suggest a few more core rises and we'll see a jump in height with the crane soon.

I still feel that this is a great development. I really like the simplicity of design and the framing of the GPO tower from Vic Square.
I'm looking forward to the GPO restoration too!

Just a quick question MicBara if I may. On the massing renders shown below it appears the southern services core is clad in a non reflective material where as the min visuals show that southern facade with a uniform reflective result. Which outcome should we expect? Fingers crossed the full reflect...

Review the article for what it is: a journalist found a Facebook page of people who are very much anti-development of any kind trying to generate opposition to a development that has two days of public consultation left. Add in a vaguely dismissive/negative view from a member of opposition (with som...

Why the blank wall for the building’s core, surely at this height they could follow suit with what’s done elsewhere and glaze the building all around. It is glazed all of the way around, as per the render below. I'd suggest the off centre core is for floor plate flexibility reasons, potentially eve...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
I noticed walking past this last night that there is two huge formed concrete columns with upper exposed reo immediately to the east of Festival Tower, I assume they're for the new 35 level building. Makes me wonder if there is a massive void at the lower section to allow clear sight lines of Parlia...

I believe there's meant to be a set of metallic bronze/champagne vertical feature awnings above the facade too. Should break up the charcoalChillyPhilly wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:09 amThe new facade of the Myer Centre is starting to show.

[U/C] Re: 145-159 King William Street (GPO) | 61m | 16 Levels | Hotel
I'd suggest this is one of the rare cases where the final delivered outcome is better than the renders. The highly reflective, primarily blue facade is better than the original champagne colour as it allows great contrast for the GPO and surrounds to stand out. If it was the original colour, from a ...

Great photo! I really like the simple, modern but high quality finishes of both BHP and the Mariott Hotel as it creates a nice backdrop for the GPO building to really stand out. It will be quite the striking corner once the development and facade restoration of the GPO is complete. A nice juxtaposit...

I'd say it's all part of the asbestos removal. I'd also expect some temporary tent/cover structures to be set up too. I can confirm the removal of 60m2 of asbestos (friable) contaminated soil. Works were slated for completion by 17/10/2023 (where the pump truck is). Further contamination was detect...
