[COM] Re: COM: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

Yeah, it would be nice if I could actually watch an AFL game at Adelaide Oval on free-to-air televisin here in Melbourne. And here I thought the Port and Geelong game would be a priority for free-to-air because it was the top two playing, but no it obviously wasn't. TV schedule is worked out at the...

[COM] Re: COM: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

How big is the new car park built under the Eastern stand ie how many cars (roughly) does it fit? I was told its just for players, officials, coaches etc...Wasn't there a plan to build a major car park as part of the development...can't remember where...anyone know what happened to that idea? That ...

The excitement this Tweet caused me would be considered sad anywhere but here and one or two other forums about AO:

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Makes me worried that they won't actually put the scores on the scoreboard :/
Put totals on the replay screens and the goals/behinds/points on the scoreboard, and expand the score bug on the screens after a score.
PLEASE!!!!?!!!?!

Ever seen an AFL game played with nets up behind the goals?

ANZAC Day SANFL Grand Final re-match returns to Adelaide Oval :D http://sanfl.com.au/news/sanfl_news/2393/ So very happy to read this. Apart from Finals this is the SANFL's big game IMO. Putting it at AO gives it the chance of a big crowd as in previous years from the march and Cross of Sacrifice s...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Digital boards are installed around the whole fence from the western end of the hill to the western end of the Riverbank Stand. It's actually the fence. Unlike AAMI where there's a fence THEN the boards as those ones were retrofitted. Looks great, but I was hoping to see the pickets popping up above...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

I think the fence signage is SANFL, as it has also been used each year for League Finals, except the first year (2011) when they'd been moved to AO for the Port v Melbourne game. First year the LED signage was used at AAMI for AFL was 2009. Interestingly when they were used at Adelaide Oval in 2011...

I wonder if it was sold to the FFA or Hindmarsh Stadium (EntCent) as im not sure where they would have come from?
From the LED shop? :P

Would be surprised of the AAMI ones don't end up at AO like they did for Port v Melbourne in 2011.

I think the fence signage is SANFL, as it has also been used each year for League Finals, except the first year (2011) when they'd been moved to AO for the Port v Melbourne game. The signage along the fronts of the stands would be part of the stadium, and be permanent. I'd imagine though that someth...

Was it on here that I read that each tier of the new stand is getting LED advertising banners along the front? I think the Riverbank Stand already has theirs by the look of it. It's really going to be spectacular lit up at night. Looks like it. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r514/hdecure/Sheff...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

I wasn't around when SACA and SANFL were fighting but from what I know I believe moving away from AO was the correct decision for the circumstances. I also think it would be understandable that Basheer would have reservations moving back to AO when (a) there is much more at stake now than when they ...

So we have two Jack Oatey Stands now (the other being at Unley). I guess there's two Bradman Stands as well (Adelaide Oval and SCG). http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/41954267.jpg And, I just saw on the NAB Challenge, a Bradman Stand at Manuka Oval as well (centre one with media faci...

How did Wanganeen get a stand named after him? Winning a Brownlow, I'd imagine. Shane Woewoedin's got one of them :P We're getting off topic now though. Anyway, who are the other two named after? One's Mark Ricciuto I believe but who's the fifth one? Wanganeen Oatey Basheer Ricciuto and Fos Williams.
