Re: Deregulation of Shop Trading Hours

The 24 hour supermarkets that I've worked in before have generally had dedicated overnight replenishment teams meaning that 70-80% of restocking is undertaken at night when customer traffic is low. Daytime restocking is usually just gap filling as required or picking up what the night team couldn't ...

Re: Beer Garden

I wonder if one potential positive to this will be an increase in flexible working across the board? So many organisations all over the world who have never really embraced remote working (mine included) are now being forced into this by the current situation. Once it becomes apparent that many jobs...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I remember reading about this a while ago - from memory it will be reused on the Lot 14 site but not in the same place and not necessarily in a continuous length.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

As always, feedback is welcomed! Keep left unless overtaking  But seriously, lane discipline in this video is shocking - I'd wager that the same video taken in any European country would be entirely different. Hopefully when the N-S motorway is completed the government of the day will invest ...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I'm yet to think of a building there that would make much difference here, let alone be iconic. Any other examples of what we should be aspiring to here? I've said it before, Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower (or something like it) would look awesome here: https://www.elizabeth-foundation.org/wp-content...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

This approach works well here in Perth, however keep in mind the lines here have stations spaced 5km apart Only on the Mandurah and Joondalup lines - the Fremantle, Armadale and Midland lines all have station spacing at around the 600m-2km mark just like Adelaide. Some of the station spacing looks ...

Does anyone know what's going on with those pop-up tenancies on the ramp by the way? Only Elementary ever seems to be open regularly now, and the makeup place sporadically - the others popped up, traded for a week and then seem to have remained shut ever since.

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Gawler Place isn’t pedestrianised, it’s a shared zoned I stand corrected (said the man in the orthopedic shoes). I guess my point was that in terms of priorities for streetscape improvements I'd take the full pedestrianisation of Peel and Leigh Streets over an upgrade to Gawler Place further south ...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

I think Gawler Place should of been upgraded not Bank Street etc. The bit that already has just been upgraded, or continue the upgrade further south? If the latter, do you mean pedestrianise the whole length? Whilst I'm fully supportive of discouraging car use within the CBD and have no problems wi...

[CAN] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

Presumably the connection could be removed again if the project were to go ahead? I would have thought it would not have been politically safe to leave the museum cut off for X years whilst the project was reevaluated. Not that I expect this to go ahead under a Liberal governmen - they seem to have ...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

You'd really have to hope that there will be some redevelopment of the station when this development goes ahead - other than the community art and plantings it's in a pretty shocking state. There's plenty of scope to build a new station slightly further south-east away from David Terrace which would...
