Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
oh boy, I think you should stick to PT if you cant handle speed limit changes and planes flying over Interestingly, one of the main arguments which comes up nearly every time a council wants to reduce a speed limit (i.e. the introduction of 40km/h zones) is that "it's confusing for drivers to ...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
I can't disagree but I've always thought it was weird to have this random short stretch of 80 km/h road stuck essentially in the middle of suburbia. It doesn't really service any particular purpose and, from my experience, it just tends to confuse metropolitan-based drivers who rarely have to encoun...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
I've always thought it's dodgy having unsignalled entrances/exits to Harbour Town on an 80km/h road. It's very difficult to pull out safely here when traffic is heavy and I've seen people taken unnecessary risks on many an occasion. It's a 2km stretch with a number of turn offs/intersections (and li...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
I really don't get this - what is the justification for saving a relatively small amount of money in terms of the overall project costing by not putting in a shelter that is significantly bigger than the one that's there? It looks very similar in size to the one at the recently-rebuilt Croydon Stati...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
doesn't look rundown to me I guess the topless part was what offended you Why do you assume I'm offended by it? I've been in there a handful of times, not to the topless section as it's not my cup of tea - but I have absolutely no problem with it existing. The front bar area was OK at best, but in ...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
Another pub (albeit not a great one) bites the dust to be turned into offices and "a cafe or restaurant or something like that". Still, hopefully the historic facade will be restored - the current building isn't particularly inspiring. Land of Promise acquired by developers looking to retu...

A few pics from today. It looks to be externally pretty much complete with the temporary site buildings and associated infrastructure being removed. The roof space looks interesting - there's a big net being erected so I presume there's enough room up there for ball games. https://i.imgur.com/PZwZkI...

Re: Cycling lane from Brighton to Largs Bay along the coast
It's hard to see where there would be the space though. Building on or even disturbing the dunes is a big no-no.
I'd like to start with the basics and see a decent continuous shared pathway along this route.

its clear it can cope with one lane each way Apart from access to the Wilson car park that is. I saw that creating relatively long queues on several occasions during those works. @whatstheirnamesmom - Do you remember if the right turn lanes for people accessing the car park from the south are being...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling
This is actual construction, which is meant to be beginning today. Bike SA and Bike Adelaide have been reporting this. I viewed the tender documents a few months ago, I assume not too much has changed in the final design. From Rundle St to North Tce we'll see a copy/paste of the bikeway as it exist...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling
Have just received the below message at work. Can't find much on the ACC website and it's not clear if this is actual construction or just preliminary work. Fingers crossed though... From now until October, there will be traffic delays at various times on Frome Road between Rundle Street and Albert ...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
This. Aside from a clean the only work that needs doing is removing the square background behind the logo (completely unnecessary), and better resolving the ground level on both sides to better connect to North Tce and the riverbank. Completely agree - it's grown on me massively over the years and ...
