[SWP] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2

Yep definitely not the most interesting looking building, but it's what will be housed inside that makes it truly remarkable. Impressive to have this in 'lil ol' Radelaide 8)

Those escalators...why?

More to the point, why are we still hashing out the details of this project 10 years after it was proposed? The casino has been built, the gigantic hole in the ground for the car park has been dug. Weird :?:

Re: SA Economy

To be honest, I thought W.A's economy was larger than that, considering their mining industry exports come to tens of billions of dollars each year. Their economy has been struggling for a number of years now though, but that is coming off the largest resources boom Australia has ever seen. In fact ...

The first render made me think of Gold Coast 2002, the second one Adelaide 2018. Can we have something in between please :P

[U/C] Re: 23-29 Market Street | 58m | 17 levels | Hotel Indigo

I've walked past this many times over the past few months, and i'm not really loving the external look. Those multi-coloured vertical shutters (or whatever they are) down the windows are a strange touch..... which i'm hoping are not completely finished just yet. I'm guessing this is going to be on t...

Re: Beer Garden

Thought i'd share a random article I found recently, only a couple of months old. I'm surprised it didn't get any air time here, but I can understand why it didn't in other mainland states :P Best Australian cities ranked by the so called "list king"...... https://travel.nine.com.au/latest/best-wors...

Re: SA Economy

Moving to a tariff based economy is not the way Australia or any developed country should be aspiring to, unless we'd prefer living in the 1960's. The blame for the loss of manufacturing doesn't lie with the Govt as much as many would like to believe, but it lies with all of us. Go back 15 years or ...

Re: SA Economy

While I agree it would be great to entice new companies to SA and Australia with free or subsidised land, I doubt our labour costs (and cost to manufacture anything) could compete with China or India. Not that I could recommend it but can you ever see workers/unions accepting wages of say $2 day? I...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I for one definitely hope any type of Govt. Department doesn't take up space in the new tower, although sadly, it seems like a given in Adelaide to get a major office tower off the ground, aka City Central 2 and 3 (ATO and Attorney Generals Office). Why? What is wrong with government tenants? Gover...

Re: SA Economy

CommSecs State of the States report has been released for the March '20 quarter. S.A has moved up one spot to 5th overall out of eight states and territories, ranked 2nd in three of the categories..... granted it all probably means squat from here on in :? Once again, these results are based on cur...
