A new 5 story building under construction at 68 King William St Kent Town ?? https://studionine.net.au/projects/68-king-william-street-kent-town The renders for this one look nice. What's even better is developments like this almost go unnoticed these days, I mean that in such a way that they're po...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
agree about the Weatherill era, he was a great Premier. Rebuilding Adelaide Oval in particular has been the most transformational project for this city in decades. I don't think this is true, Adelaide Oval and the push towards renewables was kick-started by the Rann/Foley government. I feel that th...

No I haven’t been in delusional land like our premiere I also live in London. But no one from home has mentioned anything so I’m confused. South Australia has had a struggling economy for ages what changed ? You should tune into the SA Economy thread in the forum a bit more, SA's economy has been t...

Re: The Housing Crisis
I wonder what it means to "afford a house". Presumably it means to borrow and service a loan with minimum deposit. But is "a house" a detached four-bedroom home with two bathrooms, separate study/WFH room and lockable parking for two cars and a boat/caravan suitable for a family...

Re: SA Economy
Reported today on numerous news sites, S.A's unemployment rate has dropped to 3.2% in February.
This is the lowest on record and the first time ever S.A's has been the lowest in the country.

Re: SA Economy
I'd imagine modern residences have a lot less carpet and more tiles/floorboards than they did 30 or 40 years ago.

Re: SA Economy
South Australia has had negative interstate migration since the 1970s, as has New South Wales. It's been an ongoing issue for both states for a very long time. I'm not sure that's entirely true. I thought S.A's net interstate migration losses only became entrenched from 90/91 onwards (State Bank co...

Re: The Federal Politics Thread
[Howard also helped create the housing crisis through the removal of the capital gains tax on housing, making it much more lucrative for wealthy investors to buy up property in bulk (no surprise that most Federal MPs from all parties own multiple properties). That is partially true, here is an exce...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
I guess the question from myself and most South Australians who have limited knowledge on how the whole electricity generation/supply/retail system works, is when are we going to actually see our power bills reduce? We have been sold this narrative that renewable were supposed to lead to cheaper pr...

That's true as abc the troll says above, S.A still has the slowest population growth rate of the 5 mainland states. The reason we ranked first is because the growth rate of 1.67% is way above our decade average of around 0.9%. Good to see we are getting a larger share of migrants. How much of that ...

Re: SA Economy
If SA can maintain between 1.5 and 2% growth for a while, I think we can grab a bigger slice of infrastructure funding from the Commonwealth. As often one of the main excuses we hear why we don't get the funding, is population. East coast has a larger population that's growing faster so they need i...
