Re: Victor Harbor | Developments & News

From Adelaide now A new six-storey hotel at Victor Harbor – backed by an international chain – will drive a surge in tourism for the region, its owners say. A $40 million, six-storey hotel building overlooking the bay at Victor Harbor will help draw tourists to the area for longer and provide a muc...

I didn’t think I’d ever see the day I’d lament a 100m + building go up in Adelaide!

AFR article saying Adelaide reached a record 19 cranes last month. This does not add up to what we have here. I wonder if there are any metropolitan ones we are missing? https://www.afr.com/property/commercial/commercial-cranes-rise-on-office-demand-in-tight-market-20191022-p53327 I was watching Br...

Forme projex takeover of Hurtle continues. The next stage expected to be approved next week by ACC (under $10m).

Stage 4 is about to commence construction.
Each project is inoffensive individually, however, a whole square full of the sameness invokes images of Communist totalitarianism.

My mail is that this will be topping out next week. If this is true then we're only been waiting 35 years for this week to come lol. Old mate will be happy. He's been waiting a while. Westpac House was completed in 1988. Although I realise in the scheme of things, 31 vs 35 years is not significant,...

From the SA Planning commission website. I did not think anyone could possibly design something uglier than Dwell, until this thing came along. I have been involved in Adelaide developments for over 20 years, and this is by far the worst proposal I have seen. It is a cheap, vile, monstrosity, that b...

La Taberna is the next to open in the former Cocolat / Petrichor space on, ahem, “Rundel St”. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190918/da01c4f6b8d866d29babed6206446fc5.jpg What an interesting establishment. Not sure how well it well go. The menu does not inspire confidence as it seems to be a mush...

Yes it was a pity Apollo Square was never built in 1970 .It would have been Adelaide's first 40 story office building (taller then any of the current proposed tall buildings). it was to be located at 60 king William st where that fake old building is at the entrance to city cross. It's a pretty sad...

I can’t say much. To be honest I don’t know a lot other than the location but it is in the central cbd but does not have mall frontage.
My guess would have to be 199-200 North Terrace.

Rev, you are partially right about the South Australian mentality. There are those whom have a small town, parochial mentality. They think everything here is world class, and there is no point in trying to improve. I'm currently living in country SA, and see it all the time. But, you also forgot to ...

I do find it interesting that the only people who dislike Adelaide Oval, tend to be our fellow South Australians. I have yet to hear or read a negative opinion piece from someone based interstate or overseas. In fact quite the opposite. Another example of the cultural cringe?
