EVERYTHING on the northern side of North Terrace is in the Park Lands. I have a copy of Light's original plan and back then he didn't factor in the Railways, Museum, Library, University, Art Gallery etc. He drew a spot for Government House, a hospital in the east park lands, army barracks, storage ...

I hope such changes are rejected and consigned to the rubbish where they belong. Developers are treating all of us like idiots. They have projects approved only to dumb them down later. If developers wish to make such drastic changes to their buildings, the law should be changed forcing them to star...

Maybe they'll even bring the trucks in over the grass. Who cares the grass will be replanted.
I wouldn't imagine the parklands preservation society would be too happy about that.
So?

As others have said it's funny that one of Adelaide's best looking buildings is going to be a hospital. I really enjoy seeing this building - even half built - from pretty much any angle you approach it. It's also very visible as you drive towards the city down Unley Rd which is pretty nice too. I ...

One of the reasons I dislike the City Central development is that all the buildings are roughly the same size and look very similar. This creates an uninspiring, monolithic form which is dreary to the eye. The same thing will happen on this stretch of North Terrace, if this building is built. To hav...
