Re: [VIS] New Concert Hall

A better location for a concert hall then the festival plaza area would be the torrens parade ground. Demolish it all, build the concert hall and properly landscape and pave the surrounding area. NO, hands off the Torrens Parade Ground, its an important site thats used on Anzac Day etc. Honestly, R...

As for location, proximity to Adelaide Festival Centre or Her Maj are crucial IMO, with my preference being for the former .
I'm curious, why is that proximity to either of them essential?

Re: [VIS] New Concert Hall

How about the LeCornu site? ACC isn't getting anywhere with anything, state gov already subsidized the purchase by 10m so they could take over the whole thing cheaper, and then build a concert hall there (add some housing, shopping & parking to finance it). Or the parade ground, a concert hall would...

It should be reassembled in a smaller format, that core will also extend all the way up.

Major construction & supply chains?

Hi, so, I have no real idea about the logistics of a major construction project, but was curious how dependent are they on outside supply? Practically, if SA keeps constructions sites open, i.e. as long as the state gov doesn't shutdown non-essential work, can companies actually complete the project...

[U/C] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

There will be two types of people who stay here mainly I expect. 1. People going to the oval for games/events who want to be able to come and go easily. During any ashes games for example I expect the hotel will be at capacity. 2. People who are drawn in by the dot point of staying at a hotel that ...

I thought that many times too - but it looks like theirs air con units and other stuff - more like a carpark or something Maybe not supposed to be glass glazing but something else. Maybe their supplier for car park coverings went broke and they have a band-aid wire mesh temp solution Yes that's an ...

The front of the building looks great, but is any one else not such a fan of the white panels they are using on the north and western sides? (Possibly the eastern side too, haven't really had a chance to view it form that vantage point yet). Hopefully more of a pattern will emerge the higher it get...
