[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Totally agree with both of you. The design is uninspired. There’s this idea in this city that bland design doesn’t take away from surrounding heritage/important sites (post office redevelopment I’m looking at you). That just isn’t the case. Sleek, modern and cutting edge designs with curved/interest...

I feel like our cbd has lots of poor architecture from all eras. And then some beautiful exceptions.

When we get a few real talls nearing 200+ with some stunning design, I think our cbd will be quite the wonderful cluster f😉ck

I like the look of it but it’s another render that leaves a lot of room to be deceiving. What are all the colour panels? Is the glass so see through we will see the curtains? Is there various colours in the glass?

I feel that not only does this look like crap but also so out place with what’s been built.

What happened to that really cool design that sat over the communal space that, I think was rejected when it went to consultation?

I wish this was taller. Imagine it at 100+... the glass is so good!

It will really block out some very dated drab development from the western view.

The pagola set to the left looks so tacky.

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

I understand it’ll be expensive to redo all of the parklands but all of them should be heading in this direction eventually. So you have a master plan and keep them uniform or have each stage it’s own unique look and feel? I’m not sure but I certainly hope this progresses.

This is great. It’s amazing what a little TLC can do.
The brick arches are a great touch.

I wish the glass was highly reflective. And a more unusual colour. I feel the blue green tone is already fifteen years dated?

Cannot wait to see the glazing on this. Given its good quality,
And it’s location, it could really help transform our skyline along with Realm and the new casino.

I feel these developments will help balance out some of the poorer quality we’ve seen over the last five years.

Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽
