Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

With talk of grade seperation at Westbourne Park, should Hawthorn be reopened in exchange for closing Unley Park? It'd be a good opportunity to move Unley Park station north of crossroad, where the larger population lives (in comparison to Hawthorn which it's in). It would also then be in the subur...

Is it just me or does it seem a lot of our highrises are becoming narrower? Is it because of higher land prices or is there another reason? It's not a good/bad thing. Some "narrower" buildings look great. Just an observation. May be coincidental from small properties in the CBD selling re...

I don't find this too bad. It's not great either. Just a 6/10.

Any estimates on the height? I reckon 70 to 80 metres.

At least the problem is at a part they're actively building on rather than a section, like one of the bridges, that's complete.

Any word on whether the old station shelters might be reused elsewhere? With their length, you could cover two platforms at two separate stations... I think the answer is no reuse. Two photos taken today of the canopy demolition. To have been reused the receiving station would have to have had side...

Weirdly enough one one of the poles looks like it's been completely rusted. Could this be from the sea breeze, this pole wasn't protected properly against rust but because the current path the line takes is going to be ripped up soon it's a waste of money to replace it? https://i.imgur.com/ohumV49.j...

It's wider because it accommodates 4 lanes each way, plus merging lanes.
I mean seeing it in real life made the size of it really apparant. For me at least things look bigger in real life than they do in pictures and videos.

View from the top level of a car park in North Adelaide, showing Adelaidean's place in the skyline. (5/3/2019) Adelaidean-March2019-1.jpg I appreciate you taking the picture for us. That has got to be one of the ugliest views of the Adelaide skyline I've ever seen. All old beige buildings or new on...

Normal 2D view is still October 2017, but switching to historical imagery in the desktop program is relatively up to dateImage
Gosh, Google Earth is advanced if it can have imagery from three days into the future!
