Yeah I agree with you there, I have always found it stupid why 2 modes of PT serve the one destination, when one clearly has a faster travel time. I think what Adelaide's PT system needs to be transformed into, is a system where heavy rail is used for the outer major centres (Elizabeth, Noarlunga, P...

Welcome to the forums toby.
The canal idea was proposed in the mid/late 1800's. It wouldn't be viable now economically.

However, I do think a good tourist drawcard would be the establishment of a light rail line between the city and the port down Port Road, using those Resturant Trams.

We have to walk before we can run champs...we are roughly 3 times smaller than Melbourne and about 4 times smaller than Sydney.....Between these two cities Melbourne is the more cosmopolitan and cosmotolerant if you know what i mean! Importantly over the last 20 years the Melbourne CBD has been tra...

Culwulla.

A hi-rise is defined as greater than 12 floors or 35m. Culwulla says that its length is 90m, which is more than double its height at 40m. Therefore Australia's longest hi-rise building.

I'm really keen to see this one get off the ground, seeing as it will be Australia's longest hi-rise building.

I'm still sceptical. I'll believe it when its concreted talk and not wishtalk.
Btw - I thought the upgrade was around the 400-600 million figure. Not 250.

given that it is 2007 now - and by 2050, the suggestions seems to be that traffic travel time will take an extra 43 minutes? I dont think so. mabye an extra 20-25 minutes given the growth of the southern suburbs, and it is definitely likely that by 2050 the railway will have been extended to aldinga...

I'd rather the idea of compulsorarily acquiring a city block, preferably in the south end of the city adjacent to one of the squares.
