Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Like I said, the council was approached about developing the site, but there was never any development application lodged.

Re: What other areas should host the Tour Down Under?

I don't know if we could create a seperate Bike Tour or have it under Tour Down Under but the Great Ocean Road, Innes National Park or Great Australian Bight would look seriously amazing with people cycling on top the cliffs. If we're looking at windy roads, definitely something around Aldinga. Has...

Re: What other areas should host the Tour Down Under?

Don't forget that each stage needs 2 sprint zones and 1 King of the Mountain with a significant enough gradient on the route up the hill.

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Anyone know who the hotel operator/developer is of the one that got canned for the Marion Cultural Centre site & if they are looking for other sites to still go ahead? I don't believe there ever was a formal proposal to build it, the council was only approached. Marion Hotel from today https://cnpv...

I really hope they clad the core as indicated in the renders, and not cheap out and leave it. It's taking quite a while. I wonder when they'll start construction? Perhaps the Prospect one will get built first after all?
Do they even have a distribution centre ready yet? Setting up a new supermarket chain from scratch is no easy feat!

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Wow a year to conclude a 250m pathway upgrade... that sounds reasonable. It's a bit more than a "pathway upgrade". If it's anything like the upgrades at Topham Mall North and Bank Street, there will be a completely new concrete base with relocated services, irrigation pipes and plantings. This will...

https://www.facebook.com/7NewsAdelaide/videos/2205407979498798/ Absolute BS that the timetables are still running on reduced frequency when the Festive Season is now over and people are returning back to work. How much are they actually saving? Stephen Knoll is becoming a disappointment. I think th...

[U/C] Re: Oaklands Crossing | $174m

The thing about railway stations is they have to be built where the railway tracks are! D’oh, obviously move the tracks as well as the station. You were joking with that comment, right? The question then becomes... how do you schedule these trains? With trains already running every 7.5 minutes from...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I'm all for this development as its basically just building on already vacant land but why is everything 2 - 3 levels only? Wouldn't a mix of shorter and taller apartments have been a better use of the space or are they hoping to not have a repeat of the slums that Newport has ended up being across...
