Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD
I've become sadly disappointed by how Bowden has panned out over the past years. The few times I have ventured through, it has been covered in cars . It's my biggest disappointment too. Far too many residents park a second vehicle permanently on the street. And discussion about any development amon...

As Kermit once said; "It's not easy being green!" After 9 years, the Rundle Place Newsagency will close for good very soon, hence the shelves and racks 70% empty. Newsagents are gradually becoming a thing of the past as today's generations prefer to read the news online. A bette...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
It has been closed between Klemzig Interchange and Paradise Interchange since Monday mornings incident. The damage to the bus is quite extensive. Repairs are currently being carried out to the track. It's been nearly a year and that section is still closed? Errrr?. It was closed for roughly 1 week....

New petrol station next door soon also. Lucky because North East Road really has a lack petrol stations. Also, two more new Carl's Jr outlets are being built in Clearview next to a new 'controversial' petrol station (Hampstead Rd) and Pooraka (On Main North Rd/Burma Cr/Merchant Cr) Work on Elizabet...

Not sure if this might warrant it's own thread, but this new mixed use Retirement Village at Modbury ("Encore Apartments") is nearing completion. As well as 77 apartments, garden areas and car parking, there will be a Child Care Centre and a Cafe on the Ground Floor facing the street. This...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
At the last election campaign I wrote to both Labor and Liberal parties questioning why Saturday is a peak Fare and would they consider moving it so all the WE & PH's could be off peak Fares. Neither answered the question - one added me to their mailing list, the other didn't respond, so still ...

For those who haven't noticed, Liquorland has opened in Coles at Rundle Place as part of the supermarket's first refurbishment. Ideal spot for it with residents and office workers nearby having weekend drinks or office parties. Thanks for the update The Scooter Guy! I haven't been into Coles there ...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
Following the failed attempt at Bus Network reform by the Government mid last year, does anyone know what the plans are for future Bus Network reform? There seems to have been no mention of the SA Public Transport Authority (SAPTA) of late. Or is it a case of waiting until after the March 2022 State...

Dymocks opened today in their temporary home on Level 1 of the Myer Centre. A much smaller shop but a good open plan layout and plenty of staff around. The shop was quite busy at lunchtime and still a good variety of books on display. Plenty of signage in the Myer Centre promoting Dymocks too.

[/quote] I'm in the outer northern suburbs. I have the choice of 4x OTR, 2x Liberty, Coles Express/Shell, Caltex/Woolworths, AMPM, and X-Convenience will be opening soon on Womma Road. Presumably me and my neighbours provide sufficient custom to support all of these shops. Two of the OTRs in Smithfi...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
I noticed many shops seemed closed in Rundle Mall around 630pm tonight despite it being Friday late night shopping e.g. Apple Store closed, Reject Shop, Koko Black, most shops in Regent Arcade and Adelaide Arcade, plus several of the smaller shops nearer Pulteney St. Is this the new normal post-Covi...

Adelaide Convenience 24/7 and Bakery/Big Grill opened about 2pm today on the corner of Topham Mall and Waymouth Street. Seems to have a big focus on take away hot foods but does have indoor and outdoor dining. Also seems to be the best coffee loyalty card around...get every 3rd coffee free! https://...

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link
Makes no sense. I guess we will have to wait until the timetables comes out... Could it be trains will be cut back to hourly on weekday interpeak? That would allow about 12 services each way each weekday to be reallocated to evening and weekend services? Added to the 44 new services this totals 104...
