Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

I still think redoing the bus and train liveries in Madrid colours to match the Citadis trams rather than redoing the Madrid trams in Adelaide colours is the most Adelaide thing in the world.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Noticed today that the Subway and Krispy Kreme (which I could swear just opened) on Rundle Street had both been gutted and had the interior wall separating them removed, anyone have any idea what's going on there?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

The 150 surprises me. I'd often catch it because for most of last year I had a weekly appointment at Port Adelaide that followed onto a weekly appointment in the East End so I caught it a lot, it always seemed to be more full than average for an 1pm weekday bus by the time it got into the city. I do...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

I still think the most elegant solution to the 230/232 problem is to just split them and have one run down all the way down Days Road to Torrens Road and the other run further down Regency Road and then through the backstreets on the East side of South Road and then onto Harrison Street. Something l...

Looks like they're setting it up with only one checkout area that requires you to exit the store onto Pulteney Street. Which... not how I would've done it, I'll say that much.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Letters at the end of routes are definitely still a thing, as well as X and F buses sometimes it indicates that the bus terminates early - as an example the 300M runs from Arndale to Marion instead of doing the entire loop. It's the letters at the start that don't seem to have any real rhyme or reas...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I don't think you can really blame Max Brenner for Cocolat closing. My regular coffee haunt during uni is around the corner and it seemed to get emptier and emptier for a long time. And it hadn't really done a lot to keep up with the times either - "cool" restaurants all seem to have a spe...

Seen a few Betty's Burgers locations around Melbourne... looks like they're coming to Adelaide. Any idea of where?

Re: Tv Series "Fucking Adelaide!"

Sometimes I feel like the backlash against the Eastern states perception of Adelaide as a backwater has come too far around the other way, to the point where daring to suggest that perhaps there are good reasons someone might not want to live here forever is taken as heresy. Adelaide is a good city ...

Re: Tv Series "Fucking Adelaide!"

The series normalises and indeed celebrates young people leaving Adelaide. Whilst those who stay are portrayed as mediocre hicks. This is why I’m so upset. The fact that my taxes went towards this adds further insult to injury. I mean... it is normal. It's happening. It has been for a long time. It...

Didn't Abbott insist on only using infrastructure funds on new roads for basically his entire term?

But then I only know this because photography is my big hobby and I've spent a lot of time trying to find accessible elevated views of the skyline with only limited success. Which confirms to me that yeah, an observation deck or even a rooftop bar somewhere where the view actually faces the skyline ...

If you want a cool view out to the sea from the CBD you can take a lift to the top floor of the Intercontinental, those long vertical windows are in accessible areas of the hotel: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/571/21413774504_e38bdbf504_b.jpg The northern view is pretty incredible too! Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Alberton is the first station along the line that I can't see an immediate argument for keeping but I know very little of its patronage, the local area etc. Alberton station is one of two on the line (the other being Bowden) that's state heritage listed (not only that - both sides are specifically ...
