[COM] Re: #APP: City Central 8 - Aust Tax Office | 72m 18lvls
For those who want to know, this will consolidate two of the ATO's three Adelaide sites of City Central (1) and Rundle Mall. Ummm - no, Norman, it is going to consolidate all three of the current Adelaide sites, including staff currently at 91 Waymouth (the largest site). I work in the ATO (City Ce...

Re: Parklands to be Heritage Listed
Article on Adelaide Now this morning - last paragraph states that North Terrace cultural precinct and railyards are not included in the heritage listing.

Re: How walkable is your neighbourhood?
My place at Valley View initially rated 32 out of 100, I've managed to increase it to 38 by adding in the nearby Holden Hill shops with its IGA Supermarket, chemist/post office, and Barnacle Bill's eatery (I haven't deleted the recently-closed Golden Harvest Chinese restaurant, because a new restaur...

Re: #Completed : Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
More silliness from the Libs - one of them wants safety barriers at the tram stops so that pedestrians don't get run over. For once, the readers comments are overwhelmingly sensible (in contrast to the poll result, which has 58% agreeing with the pollie!) http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,2...

Re: Google Maps Street View Car spotted in Adelaide
They even did my house :P Good to see :) And my house too :D The pic looks to be Circa December 07 December or January would be right - I moved into my house in late November, and it was several weeks before the agent took down the SOLD sign, which is still up in the photo I looked at today. Also l...

Re: RegionaLink and Adelaide Metro Vision by Pat28
Nice work, guys. Shuz, i would suggest that you put in interchanges between your southern red and blue lines at Seaford Rise and Onkaparinga Hills, so that passengers at the southern ends of your lines don't have to backtrack to Noarlunga or Goodwood to access the other line. In the north-east, Fair...

A warning - if you go into the AdelaideNow site to print off the report, DON'T read the readers' comments, because there are far too many moronic ones, as per usual! The Subiaco video was interesting.

Re: #Proposed : Port Adelaide Tram Line
A Q & A in yesterday's Tiser (it's unclear whether they were direct quotes from Kevin Foley, or someone else) indicated that the tram-trains would all be low floor, requiring modification to the stops on the Outer Harbor line (and presumably the Grange line too), and that they will NOT run into ...

Hi Norman,
Are there low-floor sections at the ends of those carriages to allow wheelchairs, buggys, etc on and off?

Re: #Proposed : Port Adelaide Tram Line
Kevin Foley on the ABC's Stateline announced that the tram from the Entertainment Centre will head through a redeveloped (Clipsal site) Bowden housing estate to the Outer Harbor line. I wonder If I'm understanding you correctly (or if you understood Foley correctly), because... The Entertainment Ce...

Re: 08/09 state budget announcements
Actually, 156 & 157 could be feeders in two directions - 156 would also feed into Port Adelaide, and 157 into Semaphore and Largs/Largs North stations with a slight route modification.

Re: 08/09 state budget announcements
155 and 157X could certainly be removed entirely, 156 and 157 to be cut back to feed from their respective outer termini into West Lakes.Norman wrote:I'm thinking the 155, 156 and 157 will be severely cut back, and the 157X will be removed.

Re: 08/09 state budget announcements
I think that, if anyone other than the govt deserves credit for some of the transport initiatives, it is the Port Adelaide Enfield Council, who proposed the Semaphore and West Lakes tram links early last year (so put that in your pipe and smoke it, MHS!) Did anyone notice that the graphic on page 4 ...

Re: #Proposed : Port Adelaide Tram Line
Will they also have to duplicate the line from Woodville to Grange in order to meet the proposed 15-minute frequency during the day? From memory, the current turnaround of Woodville to Grange and back is about 20 minutes or so, and given the short distances between stations on that branch, I can't s...
