Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment
While this site would make a very good place for a residential development, for the very same reasons and more, it would make an even better location for a future sports stadium. It would be ideal for a scaled down version of Marvel Stadium which is a second AFL/cricket ground close to Melbourne CBD...

The first sod was turned yesterday for the $43.5m 500 space TTP Park N Ride expansion. Expected completion in 2024. For a while now Tap N Pay has been available on trams and for the past few weeks has been rolling out on the O-Bahn and should now be complete. All buses to get the green light by mid ...

A good list UEX.
Unfortunately there is already a large gap between SA and the rest of Australia in the capabilities of our rail infrastructure. With no current plans to address it by the State government it will only get worse.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
So would the O-bahn be better as heavy rail? If a N/E rapid transit system was to be built these days heavy rail with a 4km tunnel between Walkerville and the North Adelaide Rail station may have been a viable option. The only thing is it would have required, as a prerequisite, an underground CBD l...

At one stage I also felt that this direct route would be the best way to go but have since been convinced otherwise. I believe they would be unlikely to build a new section of road where Victor Harbor Rd would get the majority of benefit over Main South Rd especially considering south of where they...

[U/C] Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade
Thanks Norm for the update. This project serves well for future proofing local traffic movements particularly between McLaren Vale, Old Noarlunga and Seaford Heights. However, what has been overlooked is the traffic movements between Adelaide and Victor Harbor. There needs to be a freeway standard ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
55.1 million for future rail projects in SA? Sydney are expanding their rail at a cost of 50 - 60 BILLION. If that amount of money was converted to a per capita basis it would allow us to build both an underground CBD rail link and underground rail to Mt Barker at the same time. Even though practica...

[COM] Re: Main North Road/Nottage Terrace Intersection Upgrade
Yesterday SA Transport minister Corey Wingard announced the completion of this project.
At the last State budget $6 million was allocated for the Nottage Tce / North East Road intersection. Hopefully this will include a dual left turn lane on to North East Road so as to complete this corridor.

Last week demolition started on this $314 million project.
This will see the construction of a new Emergency Department, intensive care unit and operating theatres which will begin later in the year.
A completion date of 2024 is expected.

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker
we basically need a tunnel from torrens park/brownhill creek up to stirling/crafers and bypass all the blackwood crap lol Untitled.png As simple as it is to draw lines on a map, as stated previously, trains need a gradient of 1 in 40 to travel safely at a decent speed. Sure, the gradient can be ste...

As reported earlier this week on 9 News Adelaide the budget includes $45m for the upgrade of Marion and Sir Donald Bradman Drive. Work to start next year.
With this amount of money I would expect extra lanes with land acquisition required.

Also it looks like they will cut my beloved Keswick Creek in half. What will happen to it? Will they pump it under the motorway? Keswick Creek could be incorporated into the James Congdon Bridge. As part of the T2T the Port Road bridge had very large pipes under it. Be interested to see how competi...
