On the one hand there is apparently extensive modelling and evidence from crashes to support the change.

On the other hand there are those complaining that a drive through this section will take an extra 30 seconds under ideal conditions with this change.

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

I can't disagree but I've always thought it was weird to have this random short stretch of 80 km/h road stuck essentially in the middle of suburbia. It doesn't really service any particular purpose and, from my experience, it just tends to confuse metropolitan-based drivers who rarely have to encou...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

Croydon is close to the city whereas Port Dock is the end of the line and its a spur line so I assume they're not anticipating a huge amount of patronage.

Re: The Housing Crisis

abc. Seriously. You can't just call everyone stupid all the time. I didn't I'm not sure you can blindly blame "the media" - even social media. I'm pretty sure it was "the media" who told me there were multiple candidates for preselection in the safe seat I live in. It was "...

The speed limit on Tapleys Hill Road between Africaine Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive will be reduced from 80 to 60 from Friday 31 May. https://www.facebook.com/DFITSA/posts/pfbid08FvkEBPh11ghnNfcgsb92WefQmFrVMN71fSP6N3D7qMiind43GLzpVHnAZKitC5Ul this seems unnecessary Some people regard all spee...

Re: M1 South-Eastern Freeway

Why not just install a concrete barrier in the median strip of Cross Rd? Sure, this wouldn't stop traffic heading west on Cross Rd from being hit by an out of control truck, but neither would moving the stop line for the intersection further east. There's probably not enough concrete in all of Sout...

OUCH!! This is going to upset a lot of people as the reforms come into effect immediately, Govt strengthens urban tree protections The state government has strengthened protection for trees in South Australia’s planning system – a move that has been enthusiastically welcomed by environmentalists an...

Talk about a staggering statistic. Rail commitments for the rest of the decade. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240515/65ccfeab674f6fda7b1c4f84bc607f32.jpg Seems commensurate to wealth, forecast growth and population. Remember much of our available funds are tied up in metropolitan Adelaide's ve...

This should've been done before the building was sold. This sets a dangerous precedent for commerce in this state. If the pub business was doing so well then it wouldn't have sold up for a redevelopment. Obviously the former patrons didn't attend the venue when it mattered in enough numbers to keep ...

Re: The Housing Crisis

Did you just call all Australian citizens "stupid"? At the same time, you say there is no point in trying to vote for alternatives to the major parties to advocate or change. majority are, not all we have proof of that from 2019-2021 era I didn't say there was no point I said it was not r...

Re: The Housing Crisis

Do you have a better solution? Continuing to allow faceless men to control who is available to be elected doesn't seem to be resulting in the changes we'd like to see. If independents with different ideas can shake up the entrenched positions, this is a good thing, even if only for a term or two un...

Re: The Housing Crisis

That's clearly not always true - there were a bunch of "teal independents" elected two years ago. Collectively, we either agree to elect whichever party hack the backroom has pushed forward, agitate (which might mean joining) for the majors to choose better candidates, or vote for someone...
