Re: Adelaide's New fashion strip?

I have to admit, these exaggerated New York comparisons do get tiring. Still, it would be nice to see a revival on Grenfell St, and, more importantly, a makeover. The buildings and streetscape are grotty.

Re: Article: Labor to build new subs in SA

Pistol78 wrote:This is excellent news for SA. Is ASC a public company? Time to buy shares.
Not yet. It's still government-owned. As the article makes mention, it's due to be privatised next year, but it's more likely it'll be bought outright by a big international defence firm.

lol are you sure cruise?, because the State Government have just released more land at Blakeview, Andrews Farm and Evanston. So the gap between Adelaide and Gawler is getting smaller. I'm sure. One of the urban boundary's objectives is maintain a greenbelt between the outer suburbs and Gawler (admi...

Re: SA Now In Recession: ANZ Bank

Those ads are partly based on fact. The state governments owe a lot to the Federal government for their well being. Since the introduction of the GST they are swimming in money. With the Federal government debt free, the onus is on them to keep their houses in order. From an historical perspective ...

Beautifully situated, yes, but well presented? I don't think it's too great in that area at least insofar as building architecture and landscaping are concerned.

I don't know if it's been approved or even pursued, but I did see some interesting at the site last night -- one of those transportable offices which are typically used at construction sites. Could something be happening?

Uuggh. If this is correct, then it's suddenly a very uninteresting building.

We had the tramline going to nowhere.
It shits me people say that, as it's patently false. Other than that, the article makes some good points.

Nice find Mants. I like the new render (the podium reminds me somewhat of the Gallery), though I suspect it won't turn out quite as depicted.

By the way has anyone had a look at that tea/coffee lounge (forgotten the weird name - Sadechin or something) they have done in the grand ground floor foyer of the old AMP building 1936, It looks fantastic. I actually thought this was the old Commonwealth Bank building though. Was it ever? I have. ...
