Re: News & Discussion: Trams

In Canberra and as I type am looking at their tram line down Northbourne Avenue. Looks fantastic and what I would expect a tram down the middle of Port Road to look like. Most all major infrastructure is in place but it still looks a couple of months off being ready. John Holland are the contractors...

Was reading about the Pym to Regency upgrade and found some interesting info - https://www.infrastructure.sa.gov.au/nsc/regency_road_to_pym_street says: The concept design includes: Left in and left out only access at Pym Street whereas http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/projects/ProjectDetail...

Fark that crappy shed off already.
Too bad it's a retirement complex that's proposed. I mean yeh, a bunch of geriatric pensioners are really going to liven up the Port. :wallbash:
Thought you were already a geriatric pensioner Rev...

T2T itself is outstanding. What a contrast from what that stretch was to what it is today. One thing I've noticed is since T2T has opened, the Superway has been considerably busy - especially southbound and the South Rd/Regency Rd intersection. It shows the importance that the link between T2T and ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Evening all, To save questions for tomorrow... Air New Zealand B777-300ER ZK-OKT is operating 'NZ191/192' tomorrow. What makes this interesting that the aircraft is in EVA Air colours. ANZ are leasing the aircraft to cover B787-9 engine issues. A very historic event for Adeladie, as it will be the ...

Pym Street will be left-in, left-out only when the Pym Street to Regency Road project is underway.
What a short-sighted joke that is!
Should be a similar setup to Hawker St - continue the trench to just past Pym St with an overpass allowing turns over South Road

I had to do a double take on the first render to see the actual building!
Feel a bit sorry for those on the eastern side of the Embassy though - that would be horrid!

That's not what they're opposing. It's the noise concerns. Look what happened to the Austral Hotel when Bent Street apartment residents complained about the noise, despite the pub having been there for 150 years. They had to build a soundproof room and reduce the number of live music gigs because o...

Big fan of this one.
Love how it looks like it doesn't belong in Adelaide!

Can't wait to see it go up.

Re: News & Developments: Prospect

i went for a walk today and was surprised to see a lightweight hammerhead crane installed at one of the low rise apartments going up around Churchill Road. On Allan Street. I'll upload a photo tomorrow. Am assuming that because of access on this road, they were forced to use a permanent crane for th...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

An interesting article in the Sydney Morning Herald about why the CBD light rail project has gone wrong ( https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/how-did-gladys-make-such-heavy-work-of-light-rail-20180629-p4zohz.html ). One quote caught my eye: Faruqi, who has a doctorate in engineering, has argued ext...
