Re: News & Discussion: Trams

All the options being discussed were covered off previously under the previous Labor government, including the Grange Road option. It just got put in the too hard basket. What people still don't seem to understand is that once OH is electrified as heavy rail, there will be no light rail of any type...

[VIS] Re: A new inner-city stadium is one of a raft of big ticket projects on the government's agenda this year.

Both sites are great locations but both look too small to fit major stadiums/arenas. Does anyone know/can work out the approx sqm land size available? Do an approximation by cutting and pasting on the same scale in Google Maps etc. That will give you an idea of the space available. Always remember ...

[VIS] Re: A new inner-city stadium is one of a raft of big ticket projects on the government's agenda this year.

My first post on this subject. Firstly, whomever gets the go ahead on this project or projects should not mix court sports and field sports in the same venue. Events and conventions are also another kettle of fish and should be separate. Secondly, as NTRabbit said, SMA hands off! Thirdly, Hindmarsh ...

A lot of people here like the mirrored glass. In the last pic taken by I Follow PAFC , you can see the reflection onto the InterContinental. When the sun is not overhead (now in summer) it should cast reflections onto the plaza. We'll have to wait and see how annoying this will turn out to be. Cheers

Just on city laneways, it appears the proposal to cover Moonta St Chinatown has (thankfully) morphed into a proposal for an artwork/lighting canopy. https://ehq-production-australia.imgix.net/bf1617ff5a7b9270c08f0b05c4d27a6d0180a752/projects/images/000/050/587/original/191029_Moonta_Street_Image_sm...

Anyone have the plans (a link) for this development now that it has been approved?

Cheers

P.S. Anyone know whether some of the trees to be removed can be replanted. I'm referring to the plane trees.

[...] So people don't even care the trip has taken three hours or even notice any rough seas as everybody is having so much fun! That looks more like a pontoon than a real seafaring yacht. Wouldn't want to bring it here in our waters. Those having fun would end up with the sharks. https://i.postimg...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

Another important issue, mentioned before, is the pollution caused by ship exhausts. Especially bad on calm days. The pier or harbour needs to have shore power to ships so the fumes can be either cut down to a manageable and safe level or eliminated completely. With ships cutting engines after docki...

Re: Glenelg Ferry & Cruise ship terminal

Is the Patawalonga Channel comparably deep/wide/close/calm to do something similar at Glenelg? Corio Bay opening from Port Philip Bay looks more sheltered than Holdfast Bay off of Gulf St Vincent. I don't know how sheltered the waters need to be for a cruise ship to tie up. Cruise season is not wil...

Looks like the design has changed a fair bit...looks average imo Actually the two rounded winged-roofs would've made this development more dated. Something out of Flash Gordon. Now it will look more like all the other apartments, so if it dates all the others will too. Cheers P.S. Nathan had ...
