Why isn't SA going after Virgin?
The Queensland government is.
Why don't the states & territories setup an investment fund and do it?

Re: SA Economy

My initial comment about Tesla/SpaceX etc, wasn't for SpaceX rockets and his big shiny silver 'space ship' to be launched here, it was a general comment. Perhaps they could launch things from here. Perhaps they could use the Woomera range to do test launches. But what they could definitely do is do...

Re: SA Economy

Woomera is a brilliant site for what it was built for . It is the world's largest instrumented range, so an ideal place to launch things when you want to watch what they do during the first minutes after launch, and find the pieces afterwards for analysis. It has several thousand kilometres of most...

The glazing is horrible, driving along North Terrace during the daytime, you can see all of the hotel curtains... There is zero reflection on the windows. I can understand if you cheap'd out on glazing if the building was similar to those around Victoria Square, but the glazing is what was meant to...

^^ Still, imagine how good it would be if it was taller.. Anyhow like I've said many times but been attacked for it, China is no friend of Australia's, it is an enemy country and it is now more and more acting like it and showing it's true colours. First they threatened to hit our barely exports wit...

Re: SA Economy

On the one hand (thinking aloud) I post various ideas and thought bubbles about doing something different, or creating new industries and so on, asking often WHY NOT IN SA. And on the other hand we have people who are generally constant naysayers, always finding something wrong with every idea or s...

Re: SA Economy

@Rev, you complain that other people should think outside of the box, but then sit inside your own box. SA doesn't have to copy other places, it could do something that nobody is doing yet. Australia is not a great place to build large heavy objects for a world market - they cost too much to transp...

Re: SA Economy

SA wouldn't be a good location for SpaceX for a couple of reasons. They currently do a lot of US government business, and there are both legal considerations regarding ITAR and the fact that if they are doing more development work overseas they lose a lot of lobbying ability. The other reason is a ...

Wow this state government or should i say the treasurer still wants to increase fees and license costs despite a pandemic/economic crisis. Now he's talking also about hitting people who they determine haven't been affected with a 2% increase in taxes. He wont dare entertain the idea of him and the r...

It's called tarrifs. Why do goods manufactured with cheap labour overseas still cost what they did when manufactured here? Corporations just want to make more profit. You the consumer still pay. Thousands of manufacturing job have returned to America since 2010 after the 2008 financial crisis. Apple...

Wait hang on. In the top picture it looks like the western side is totally glazed but in the second picture it’s not? It looks so much better. But I’m confused. The first pictures was photoshopped to get a gauge of height is that correct? It’s special glazing that can only be seen at certain times ...
