Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

I think the mid-term future for the rail corridor could lie somewhere between all the recent posts on here - how about extending Adelaide Metro services one more stop to Concordia from Gawler Central, integrating the new station with a bus interchange that would serve both LinkSA and private operat...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Meanwhile in WA, the news is about the state securing a near 1 billion fund from the federal gov to fastrack the 6 metronet (rail expansion) projects which are shovel ready, and a swathe of road improvements- also years in the planning and ready to go. What is the crack Matshal team over there up t...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

A bus service running at least hourly between Gawler and Nuriootpa via Lyndoch and Tanunda i think could work just as well. In Sydney one can use Opal card to travel as far as Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Newcastle, I dont see why Barossa couldnt be included in Metroticket fare zone. The NSW Opal...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Virgin Australia is 90% owned by foreign interests, what proportion of the 5 billion dollar debt is owed to Australian banks I don't know.... The best outcome in the current Virgin administration would be Virgin to survive as a low cost carrier. Australia (and Adelaide) need more than one airline se...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Adelaide metro are starting to cut the number of carriages on some of the Outer Harbor trains. Haven’t they been doing that for a while already? Every time I have seen a train been two and that is at night too after the virus start but yesterday seen some with one and all trains after about 6 pm. I...

Article from Renew Economy speculating on future pathway to 100% renewable energy. One detail from the article I disagree with is their assertion that South Australia will become a net electricity exporter in the near future... well from other reports I have seen (and posted on this site last year) ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

I have a question? Why is the livery being changed?

I hope its not just for aesthetics sake?!

Ok if buses and trains need to be repainted then that is an opportunity to repaint livery but not if the reason is "we were bored with the old one"

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Out of idle curiosity, has the option of running suburban trains out as far as Virginia or Two Wells been considered? There's a lot of development there. Given the possibility of having a couple of stations only but well connected to buses in the area, that could be a very fast service, even with d...
