Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

The laneway upgrades are also working to slowly but surely improve the overall feel of Hindley Street.

Re: Birkenhead Bridge Upgrade Project

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't part of the traffic planning for Port Adelaide to try and reduce heavy vehicles moving through the town center down Commercial Road? Moving the bridge in this way would actively encourage through-traffic.

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

Ignore my extremely poor photoshop skills, but would love to see a covered football stadium west of the Morphett Street bridge. Tons of room for an open plaza facing Morphett Street bridge and possibly other smaller venues. Build cost over the railway lines likely to be pricey but worth a dream! Co...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Given that Citywatcher was complaining about how the parklands aren't of a good enough quality a couple of days ago and is complaining about people caring too much about them today I suspect they may actually be multiple personalities.

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

So is ownership of the train station going to be transferred to the developers? If not, why should they pay for it? Don't we pay taxes, fees, fines, etc etc etc, to a government, who is responsible for things such as public transport? It's not a small side cost, it's a cost of millions of dollars, ...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Like I said in my original post, lets get the developer to rebuild the train station in exchange for concessions on the development. So is ownership of the train station going to be transferred to the developers? If not, why should they pay for it? Don't we pay taxes, fees, fines, etc etc etc, to a...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

I'd like to see a new ring route, new road between Phillips Street and War Memorial Drive and extend Ward Street to the new road. Widen the War Memorial Drive between King William Road and Hackney Road. What purpose does that serve? If it's cross city traffic then we absolutely don't want to be sen...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

All the places you've named have been built on haven't they Sent from my SM-J730G using Tapatalk Here's a map of the parklands: adelaide.JPG So which areas should we declare as useless and turn into housing instead? Also the Hyde Park comparison is a strange one, because Adelaide does have some bea...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Finish Vic Sq Most of it has always been an embarrassment- can't even look after the fucken things with a bit of the rolling up of the sleeves If you can't make it look like Hyde Pk in Sydney don't bother Can you point me to the spots which are bad? I think the biggest problem with the parklands is...

No photos sorry, but is the lit top already busted? Driving past last night the south facing side had one section unlit, one a different colour, and on the east facing side one section was looking thinner and dimmer than the others.

Build it over the railyards. If it isn't worth the cost of building over that, then it isn't worth losing tens of thousands of square meters of park-lands green space for. What exactly do you want to be built over the railyards? A rectangular football stadium or an entertainment-style arena? Whatev...

Looks fantastic, and so much better than that original render.
Yep, something very standout for Adelaide.

I would be pissed if I'd paid big money for a west facing apartment in the Adelaidean and had to see this looking much more impressive every day.
