Re: NBN News & Updates

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/all-set-for-faster-cheaper-internet/story-e6frea6u-1225974158506 Wholesale charges could translate to retail prices of between $53 and $58 a month for customers on the basic 12 Mbps service using 50GB a month, which would be at least $22 a month cheaper than the $80 no...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

It would require lots of planning to work right, but I think that inevitably we will see (even if decades down the line) lots of Adelaide streets become one way, much like the Brisbane CBD.

[COM] Re: #PRO: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b

It's also worth remembering that this is a hospital. If there is a choice between spending 100 million extra on the exterior, or 100 million extra on the interior, the interior should win every time. I'm really impressed with that whole precinct to be honest, both the hospital and the MRI are struct...

[COM] Re: #PRO: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b

I'm disappointed it's set so far back from North Tce. It could do so much more to improve the area. I disagree in this case, I think it is the perfect compromise between those who wanted development there, and those who wanted the site returned to parklands. We get a nice big new hospital, but at t...

It's just proof that most people here aren't for all development at any cost and regardless of impact, it's actually a good thing. :)

On info availlable, the north/south corridoor strategy looks approximately like this. Northern Expressway: 2010 (completed). South Road Superway: late 2013. Southern Expressway duplication: 2014. Northern Connector: 2016/17 if funded. Sturt Road/Flinders Drive trench: 2021. Regency Road to Grange R...

Do similar (small) sized apartments exist in other Australian CBDs? how long have they been there? and what has been the result (are they slums)? For a couple of months in late 2006 after I moved there for work, I lived in a studio apartment in Brisbane where the only interior wall was the one whic...

What was I thinking the government always get the right answer when they spend millions MFP ring a bell? I'll call you on that. The MFP plan fell through largely due to public sentiment and a erosion of political goodwill towards the project, in terms of the infrastructure planning though ...

You and another forum irregular Camaro68 should get together. You're like polar opposites. lol (unless you're him trolling? I'm assuming good faith though) He's always pumping on about how he wants to drive his Camaro on a freeway where ever he goes. Which as you pointed out isn't a great idea due ...

Re: New electric train chosen for Adelaide

Yeah, watching that video it seems there will be no movement possible between carriages? It was either in Brisbane or Melbourne where I was impressed while on the train that the train basically acted like one long car, with the joins being similar to those we have on stretchy buses. With no (or diff...

It's not a fantastic landmark building like the original concept, but it's still a decent building in its own right.

Mustn't have been so sacred afterall.
Alternatively despite the fit that half the posters on here went onto, they took a couple of days off, got the issue resolved and then carried on with the project without it turning into a media circus.

The usual parking will also be utilised around the ground and the parking off the Hilton Bridges on the north side of the Torrens will be upgraded to hold around 1000 cars. Now I'm confused. The Hilton Bridges are nowhere near the Torrens, in fact they are some way south of it. :? Sorry not the Hil...
