Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I agree with the sentiment to bulldoze and start again... bring in a few big international retailers and it could become a thriving multipurpose hub. It's worth tens of millions of dollars Bulldoze it and replace it with what? .......A newer building full of shops ? Sent from my SM-J730G using Tapa...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Cinema/Leisure (HOYTS, bowling, holey Moley, escape rooms etc) That would be a perfect use of the space, something that brings people into the mall and the way the building is setup it would have good visibility. I think this is a better fit for (and only way to save) the upper levels of the Myer C...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

I'm taking the reports regarding the centre's viability at face value. It's an issue that's been covered in the media for years, long before the Crows proposal was even a thought bubble. I tend to trust that more than anecdotal impressions of visitors to the place. And I certainly trust it more tha...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Open tender ? Like any offer outside the crows would give a toss what the council or the local nimbys want. Council doesn't want to run it maintain it or spend money on it then it should shut the Fuck up The council will always own the land Any use of it will be as a lease It's the best deal they'r...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

If they are going to be so dramatically reducing the types of facilities offered to the public then I think the council should take it to open tender. If the Crows have the best offer then so be it, but perhaps some other organisation or business could offer more public services.

Surely a freight toll needs to be considered? Freight movement is the biggest economic beneficiary for this non-stop corridor - plus they cannot sneak past the toll onto secondary routes due to size (maybe the smaller type trucks can before anyone points this out - but the toll scales can address t...

[U/C] Re: North-South Motorway

As I have said before, the moment the Libs started talking about tunnels etc was just a delay tactic not to build anything. Another 10yrs is a horrible thought, but gives a clear understanding why someone has allowed a brand new petrol station built on the eastern side of south roads at Eddy Town. ...

Draft masterplan for Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka approved by council this week. Will go through consultation this and next month, although no funding (aside the state's $1 million for the Quentin inclusive playground) has be secured and unlikely to receive first tranche until 2020/21 budget. c1260b...

There was an article in today’s Advertiser saying it’s a $15m cost for the conversion by Bunnings & it should be open by mid 2020.
How much work is involved in the conversion that it costs that much money?

[PRO] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | App 135m | 35 levels

Also while I'm sure the design will change a bit, if you count floors on the render the 35 levels count is only including floors the tower has above the market arcade itself. So it's showing something around the height of a 40 floor building.
