It's a shame it's taken a Melbourne firm to lift the design game for residential high rise. If they can do it, why do our local architects keep serving up mediocrity? Most of the recent developments which are of disappointing quality are student accommodation, which by and large is made to be as ch...

Personally. If I had a property near South Road, and I was going to have my house acquired, without the need of a hard sell in an undesirable location, I'd be throwing a party.
In this scenario you also presumably bought the property in that location in the first place though so don't mind it.

Yup. Taxpayers should get good services for the money, but we should also be treating workers well and increasing the number of casual and short term workers is bad for society.

The Adelaide Metro Infocenter now has big signs up saying their lease expires this month.
I thought it closed last Friday?
I just saw the signs from the bus, but last Friday was technically this month. :p

The fact this hasn't been bumped for ages means no-one has any big news on it. The cooking school may be part of Lot 14 though.

Comparisons to Brisbanes waterfront aren't that useful, as a lot of transport happens on the river and moves through that area. It could be a bare concrete plaza and it would still have a lot of people moving around. That Riverside area has more in common with Darling Harbor. Melbourne's riverside a...

The emergency lane is very important. Also I'm not sure if there are any exits should there be an accident, a pile up or worse still a h...

Many grounds worldwide have had issues with grass when they've built retractable roofs or overhanging ones. If Perth Stadium has issue I'm sure they will sort them out. What counts the most is that the spectators get good views from every angle on every tier, are comfortable and have all the facili...

Glossing over the serious issues that Perth Stadium has, like the too hard playing surface, and the need for view and atmosphere obstructing crowd control fences around the entire fence line because the grandstands are elevated above the playing field. At least it doesn't kill its own grass as well...
