Not necessary at all. There just wouldn't be the demand to make it at all viable. The bus service that already caters for this is fine. If this city is to have further light rail or trains then it really should be servicing daily commuters. If, one day, a transport line is required to service the we...

I'd like to know exactly how this crappy 1.6km extension is meant to bring more people into the city? I am assuming that none of you have to drive through that area in the mornings because I can tell you right now with a tram line through the middle it'll make it one frustrating journey. Do you not...

the attendance on sunday was pretty puzzling, Puzzling, yes, but also predicatable. it was lower than several league games earlier this season and less than the semi v MV the week before. I've met many fellow regular Reds fans since and none actually went to the game despite wanting to, all due to ...

SO, at the end of the day Adelaide needs to build a purpose built stadium to put any possibility of future games being moved beyond reasonable doubt! Hindmarsh didn't even sell out the preliminary final. AGAIN. For the second year in a row. A larger stadium is not needed. AAMI stadium is always ava...

I have to admit I am very sceptical about the ability of this project to regenerate areas along the tramline. The area where the tramline currently exists, in the southern half of the city, is not exactly thriving because of it. I am very much in favour of the tramline extension for several reasons ...

If you are looking for a semi-rural lifestyle try the Adelaide hills. Stirling, Aldgate, Hahndorf, Mt Barker are all within 40 mins of the city centre (most of this distance by freeway) Good suggestions. Also, Blackwood and Belair are hills suburbs even closer to the city than those mentioned above...

Well AFL is played on grounds with a cricket pitch in the middle every week, and the MCG (and Adl Oval) have hosted soccer a number of times before, so I don't think that would be a consideration. Not in cricket season though. The AFL don't get to use the MCG until late March every year. The curato...

mate in Melbourne (MV member) tells me they are even considering the G in the event of a grand final being hosted there 1) The A-League aren't going to play on a ground that has a rock hard cricket pitch in the middle. 2) The MCG are not going to let soccer be played on the area that needs to be pr...

Re: A-league finals

The question is should they play there finals at Hindmarsh which can only hold 17,000 ?? Of course they should. Neither of Adelaide United's finals games last year sold out. They would not get close to filling AAMI or Adelaide Oval (which couldn't be used anyway because of the cricket pitch in the ...

Mr Ridgway said the mature trees doomed for removal were vital in negating the greenhouse gases that contributed to climate change and in providing scarce habitat for birds and other animals in the city. If he's really worried about the environment then he should be encouraging anything that gets t...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Council is a joke

From all i can see from the render its just two little projections. The most interesting part of that picture is what looks like some sort of canopy or covering of the whole intersection. But, it's just one of several submitted proposals. In the paper they actually showed another of the proposals w...

[DEF] Re: Chip in ???

How about you guys all chip in some money and see if you can find 400 million to build a new stadium.......??? This is the only way the project is ever going to happen. No business or government organisation is ever going to waste 400 million like that...... Correction - No South Australian Governm...

Can you imagine the economic benefits of 50 000 or more people going into the city after a game. It would be great. To give this some sort of reference, that would double the number of people in the city at that time of a night currently. It would bring life to the city of the sort of magnitude tha...

The ACC's plan, from The Advertiser http://photoadelaide.com/JunkPile/vicsq.jpg That looks impressive. From the picture, anyway. Apart from the condition and design of the actual square another problem it faces, in my opinion, is the type of buildings/facilites in the vicinity. Apart from the Hilto...
