[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Why are they only planning this now!! Seems very chaotic, it' s no surprise that this section was to form part of a continuous motorway. The previous government had a hand-wavy delivery plan that included cut-and-cover short tunnels near Henley Beach Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive, and an elevat...

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

I have noticed that trucks tend to drive in middle lane not the left lane in between Southern Interchange and Northern Expressway, in some parts the left lane on the northbound side appears to slope a bit like a speedway. The Bolivar interchange just seems badly designed.

(rev) Compulsory acquisition, the same thing they're doing for the NS Motorway. From Perkins Drve/Bedford street you bring it down behind the businesses on Bower Cres and across to Russel st. Buy up the properties on either side and widen it. That was half of my pie in the sky fantasy idea on the o...

Not sure if related but Womma Road has roadworks in between Andrews Road and Argent Road, new gutters going in. Drainage works alongside Heaslip Road by Bolivar railway crossing too

McIntyre Road has always had significant problems. It gets cut back and new bitumen every few years to relevel it. The same work will likely be due again by 2023. Clearly the road has structural problems but no one has done better than continued patch work to relevel. I'm not sure if connected or n...

How about extending Perkins Drive (aka eastern Bypass) to the southern end of Commercial Road?
How do you plan to do that? Isn't there businesses on western side of viaduct ramp?

Re: Harris Scarfe has gone broke

From 5AA/9 News Spotlight Group, who currently own and operate Spotlight, Anaconda and Mountain Designs retail stores, has been granted exclusivity to buy DS OpCo Pty Ltd, who trade as Harris Scarfe. The future of the retailer's 44 stores and approximately 1300 staff is still unclear as the final de...

Reduce Commercial Road between Dale Street and St Vincent Street to one lane in each direction or make the section a transit mall. Encourage Foodland to move to Commercial Road frontage , use existing Foodland for little green space.

The Port Canal redevelopment is bringing people into the Port Adelaide. The next project I think that should be done is move Foodland to Commercial Road or St Vincent Street and redevelop Commercial Road, many buildings need to be either bulldozed or fixed up. Commercial Road should be changed , I a...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

I think Gawler Place should of been upgraded not Bank Street etc. The bit that already has just been upgraded, or continue the upgrade further south? If the latter, do you mean pedestrianise the whole length? Whilst I'm fully supportive of discouraging car use within the CBD and have no problems wi...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

The laneways host dozens of small businesses with outdoor dinning / drinking areas, being a lane it has shady and sunny areas the customer has choices, lanes are also more intimate and personal. The Squares should be upgraded but not at the expense of the laneways, the laneways bring in people and ...
