[U/C] Re: Adelaidean | 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use | New tallest

So once both are comleted: Which will be tallest (above ground level)? Which will be highest (above AHD/sea level)? It seems like there is an incentive, for however little time, for the one that is not the final answer to those questions to hold the title, even if only for a week. Above ground leve...

Re: 2018 South Australian State Election

Pre-poll votes tend to be cast by people who are older, retirees and will be on holiday on polling day, or people working overseas or interstate, on the day of the actual election - broad generalisation here, but those people in a seat with the demographics of Adelaide would tend to be fairly secure...

[SWP] Re: 269 North Terrace | 118m | 34 Levels | Student accommodation

The great thing about this forum is that there's usually two types of strands - modern development good vs retention of heritage good. That's a big generalisation so please don't have too much of a go at me about that sentence (!) but as others have said it makes this forum interesting and thought p...

[U/C] Re: Adelaidean | 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use | New tallest

Without wishing to worry too much does anyone "in the know" have any idea if the proposed 118m tower at 269 North Terrace will have any impact on the timeline of this project? It will alter the north east view for many either staying or residing in The Adelaidean. In hundreds of cites where towers s...

[U/C] Re: Renaissance Arcade | 132m | 40 Levels | Realm Apartments

I know a lot of effort goes into designing these types of buildings and also there's budgets to adhere to but you can't help but wonder why they couldn't have whacked on another meter or so just to be on the safe side in terms of Adelaide's tallest - even if just temporarily lol

Just wondering whether anyone actually knows if this building will be technically taller than Westpac House? Both are listed at 132 metres...

A similar shot to the one taken by Ben - as pointed out above The Adelaidean when built will be very dominant when viewed from almost any part of the cityscape.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

I don’t have pics but they are also refurbishing all Grange line stations. Grange is complete as is Albert Park. Seaton is being worked on, and not quite sure on the status is East Grange. East Grange is currently receiving a new shelter similar to the others on the Grange line, should be finished ...

Re: News & Discussion: Transport Projects

Why can't the state Liberals also then talk to their Canberra mates about reinstating the money that was supposed to be allocated to the Gawler line electrification? ABC News carried this item on the row over suitability and costings of the proposed Port Wakefield Road single lane overpass. Marshall...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway Revitalisation Projects

Thanks Norman for the above update - really accurate. One thing I've often thought is that when a street or laneway is upgraded, there's often a lot of fanfare - sometimes in the case of Bank Street rightly so - it looks great. However not all streets in Adelaide necessarily need really expensive gl...

Who won the contract?
(1) Laing 0'Rourke - AECOM & (2) LandLease were the two finalists (according to the guys at Railpage). Winner
I guess will be announced once the impasse mentioned above has been resolved
