What happened to the little white blocks that were going to be worked into the windows from the bottom and fade out to the top?

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Are you referring to Waterworld, the outdoor facility not usable year round? Yes. Surely a roof, gym and spa is not worth $50 million. Also why must it be year round and with a roof. Where is the options of roof less? Cos you don’t want it closed for 7 months a year when the weather is too cold to ...

I am a little confused, are these one project or two?
Yeah, I've been wondering this also.

Also, for some reason graffiti vandals are having a field day with this development.

Producers has been closed since the owner was arrested two and a half years ago Is it heritage listed? First render is what we'll be promised... Second render will be what we get... Hope I'm wrong. 🙏 Prefer the second render, it's much more suitable for Adelaide's skyline, the first reminds me of beachside east coast. The second render reminds for of Wingfold Tower which has turned out great, so I w...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Some photos from the weekend of the paving and landscaping outside Lot Fourteen on North Terrace. Thank goodness we've grown out of the mid-century attitude of "just tear it down and build something new" when it comes to anything heritage or architecturally significant. They're beautiful buildings ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Unley Road line on the map at the bottom of the previous page looks like a surface tram would be a better choice. I'm not sure if the rest of the Belair line could be converted to tram use, or if there are safety rules about putting light rail in the same corridor next to heavy freight rail. ho...

The facade looks incredibly busy in that last shot (maybe the effect of the angle and reflections against the windows?). But I quite like this. Yes, to me the renders look like three different buildings stuck on top of each other. Waiting for final completion before passing further judgment though....

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Surely in terms of an underground station near ARS, the easiest solution is to have the underground portion parallel with the current platforms and via the same ticketing entry point at the station, When the InterContinental was built they obviously removed a platform for that building's footings bu...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

15 stops on the Glenelg line as opposed to 11 on the OH line to Port Adelaide...so yes it will take longer, but given the 4x extra stops, it is remarkably close in running time. Once again, if a CBD tunnel is constructed to accomodate the OH train, then it does weigh in heavy rails favour. Any idea...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

3000-class have recently undergone life-of-type extension upgrades. They will also have less work once the Gawler line is electrified. By the time they are due for replacement, there will be cost savings in going to an all-electric fleet by closing or electrifying both the Belair and Grange/Outer H...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The whole heavy v light rail is now kind of irrelevant in regard to the Northwest corridor anyway. It's dead. We MIGHT see the main line electrified in the next decade, but that's about it. I would expect at that time Grange will be closed as there is no way it could be cost effective for 4 barely ...
