Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide

We seriously don’t need the commonwealth games. Just because Perth, Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne have had them doesn’t mean a thing. They’re a waste of resources for an event that’s getting less and less popular. Gold Coast didn’t reap what they sowed from it and people barely rocked up. Its li...

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide

Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Gold Coast were all able to host the CW Games and deal with the funding issues with cooperation from Local, State and Federal Governments. All benefited from infrastructure put in place that was used afterwards in the long term. Sydney & Melbourne both managed ...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects

It’s convenient that the original timeline of August 2019 for completion of Stage 1 & 2 review for Globelink SA has quietly been shifted out to 'late 2019’, according to the DPTI website. Even stranger is the lack of news updates on the extended timeline... Maybe the State Liberal Party should have ...

[U/C] Re: 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Crowne Plaza / Adelaidean | New tallest

I received a sales email update last night that stated this as the opening line :

Only 5 floors to go until Adelaide's tallest building "tops out".

The rest of the email is about the display suite in Paxton Walk, some apartments left for sale, and the move in date still scheduled for Q1 2020.

Re: Adelaide City aerial photo shots 1920/30's

Yes - there are so many things to look out for in these photos but some worth that extra mention: The Jubilee Oval that was once used for the Royal Agriculture Society for the Royal Show before Wayville Showground was built, the same oval was also used by SANFL sides around the turn of the 20th cent...
