[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

As per my original comment I like Adelaide Oval, let me expand - I like the look of it, where it is, the surroundings, the atmosphere and most of what goes with it. However, the stadium in my opinion looks unfinished without a northern stand. I made a suggestion on how that could be rectified, I als...

[APP] Re: Adelaide Oval Hotel

Adelaide Oval can be saved by adding a new northern stand in the same roof profile as the eastern & western stands. A new stand that end does not need to mirror the southern stand, matter of fact that would be make the whole stadium look too overpowering and too closed in and out of proportion. The ...

[PRO] Re: Torrens Road Grade Separation

The Bus routes over the Park Tce crossing were only changed after the Bus Vs Train accident a few years ago. Till then most bus routes went across the crossing. The 2 major problems for the Park Tce grade separation is the grade for the Freight trains (short distance form Salisbury highway overpass...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

Look back at the 2010 freight rail bypass study if you want to see the potential southern hills bypass option, as well as the northern bypass options, and the leaving 'as is' option. At the time the economics did not stack up. Attached here for some light reading... https://investment.infrastructure...

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

with regard to the rail spur, I'm not sure many still understand that a heavy rail OH will lead to no other spurs. Grange is completely unsustainable, with West Lakes and Semaphore unsuitable for heavy rail due to street running. There will be no isolated tram system in the Port area, as local tran...

NS MW construction momentum needs to continue sooner than later if we dont want this recent trend in declining engineering work to continue in SA.

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

The Woodville-Grange branch line will be the next likely target as not viable from some inside the Liberal party. There will try on an argument that buses do the job and the $$$ required to keep this branch line open are too high. I wonder how many Liberal donors and party executives are members of...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Bowden has been earmarked as a potential site for the Athletes Village.

But I am not sure if that was the Games Committee preference as they have had reps visit Adelaide twice in the past 6 months or so for feasibility tours, or if its the State Govts preference.

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

I was at Bowden the other weekend, and as I hadn't been there for quite a while, I was surprised how much vacant land is still yet to be redeveloped. As Bowden has been earmarked as the preferred potential site for the Athletes Village should Adelaide bid & win the CW games, maybe that will fill in ...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

There is a remote risk that Great Southern Rail will move from Adelaide in the long term, and no interstate passenger services will go via Adelaide if the rail bypass is implemented from Murray Bridge to Malalla. There may not be any interstate passenger rail terminal in Adelaide at all, let alone r...
