Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Just to clarify, this is for Tiger Air flights, not Virgin Australia. Tiger Air is a subsidiary of Virgin Australia.

This change will be in place from 27 April 2020.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Travelling on the Gawler Line today, there are footings for the poles between Ovingham and Islington. Not sure if there are more further up.

[PRO] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

I'm not sure what happened to that North-West public transport study, because the PTPA website has removed any trace of it. The Port Dock spur line page is still up though.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Saw some poor woman waiting on the outbound platform at Salisbury just now. Luckily we eventually convinced her that it doesn’t get used outside of peak times and to come over to Platform 2. Which begs the question, why is Salisbury the only oddity on the whole network? None of the other interchang...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Regarding patronage figures, the trams in Adelaide carry about 9.4m people per year, including free travel. I don't have any figure breakdowns regarding free travel, but do note that network-wide there were 9.8m free trips. This includes free trips to sports and entertainment events across all modes...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

I stumbled across this development in LA (Culver City) called Ivy Station. It focuses around the Culver City light rail station on the recently extended Expo Line. https://www.ivystationculvercity.com/ This is on a site of 20,000m2. Something of a smaller scale could be implemented at the Marion Roa...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Thankfully the city loop has more appropriate dwell times of 3 minutes at each terminus at Festival Plaza and Botanic Gardens. This will make it a bit more like a loop rather than a haphazard 3 way shuttle.

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

On a tangent, I think a stadium at the golf course would be a great catalyst for better pedestrian facilities at Morphett Road and a footbridge across the river towards the hospital.

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

these plans would have been in the pipeline for years? Given the amount of detail that is out there about this project, I really doubt it. It would have been weeks, months tops. The Federal Government was handing out hundreds of millions of dollars for 'congestion-busting' projects. They had to put...
