[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

The traffic volumes would not justify having such a freeway for decades to come. They haven't even duplicated Victor Harbor Road yet!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Interesting, it's great to see the expansion of many go zones and will make for fewer shortrunnings and a more attractive service for many. I can definitely see the point behind making Blackwood and Seacombe Gardens on-demand services, especially at night and on weekends, as they are very sparsely u...

[VIS] Re: [VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station

They would need to change the departure time of the Overland as Adelaide Railway Station is almost at capacity in peak hour. Or do that when the CBD underground link is in operation. Even the platforms for the Belair line? It's low frequency, so maybe they can slot in the Overland between Belair tr...

Re: Beer Garden

They stopped non Aussies coming in from China, and then let in 31,000 chinese students anyway. Why? I'm pretty sure they were let in because they will be here for the long term, so they will be self-quarantining for the 14 days required. Most tourists and business travelers are here for less than 1...

I don't think 'pride' has much to do with the corridor upgrade. It is also a very safe seat, so pork barrelling is unlikely to be the reason. Most highways seem to be duplicated once they hit above a certain number of vehicles per day (and meeting the cost/benefit ratio). You can see this as Victor ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Both tram lines are operating at a good frequency as is, which is very similar to other light rail services around the world. Exactly. I'd love to know how the new private operator will increase frequency, iron out all the bumpy sections of track mentioned above and 'optimise customer services' sin...

Re: Magill/Portrush Road Intersection Upgrade | $98m

Single occupant private cars are an issue but wouldn't taking all the heavy truck traffic out first be better? Cheers Commercial vehicles only make up 4% of traffic on Magill Road and 7.5% of traffic on Portrush Road. There are not many alternatives for moving freight in suburban areas. However, th...

[U/C] Re: [U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

The 2017 and 2020 drive throughs both took 66min, so the new road doesn't seem to save time in light traffic?. But the 2020 traffic looked heavier than the 2017 traffic, so maybe a 5 or 10 min saving and in peak this would probably double, add 6+ min once the middle section is done. The real point ...

As always, feedback is welcomed! Keep left unless overtaking  But seriously, lane discipline in this video is shocking - I'd wager that the same video taken in any European country would be entirely different. Hopefully when the N-S motorway is completed the government of the day will invest ...

Someone should get John Oliver's Last Week Tonight on the case, the amount of dillydally, stalling and time wasting is a disgrace. And it's all documented!

[CAN] Re: [CAN] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

I think it may be more a case if the figures stack up. Maybe its not a fair comparison but I think the Libs basically said they can run buses on the same route for a fraction of the cost. I guess if they ran this as a trial for say 6 months and assessed the patronage they could then assess the spur...
